Wilwood Front Superlite 4R/ST Road Race Conversion, Camaro/Firebird (1982–1992), 13.06-Inch Rotors with Hubs and Flexlines

This front race conversion combines 13.06-inch GT rotor rings, dynamic lug-drive hats and aluminum hubs for the documented third-generation Camaro and Firebird spindles. Superlite 4R/ST four-piston calipers use hard anodizing and Thermlock pistons; high-temperature pads and braided hoses complete the package. Wilwood Engineering began in 1977 under founder Bill Wood and is based in Camarillo, California. It designs and manufactures disc braking equipment for motorsport, specialized applications and street-performance vehicles. Calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines form part of the range and must match the requirements of the complete system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-16118; supplied as one front axle brake kit.
• Hydraulic installation: Braided flexlines are included; master cylinder not included; brake booster not included.
• Mechanical contents: Separate wheel hubs are included; mounting hardware supplied; spindles not included.
• Supplied wheel-hub pattern and studs: 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm bolt circle; wheel-stud thread 1/2-20. The supplied hubs establish this wheel pattern; check wheel seating and stud engagement.
• Minimum nominal wheel diameter: 17 in; 431.8 mm; full spoke/barrel clearance must be checked using the installation drawing.
• Flexline reference: Front Line Kit: 220-6856.
• OE-reference hub offset: +.25 inches per side; verify wheel track and fender clearance.
• Rotor material and surface: Spec-37 Iron; vented; GT Slotted; surface finish Plain.
• Rotor mounting hats: Aluminum; Type III Anodize; hat offset 1.590 inches. This is a hat dimension, not the axle offset.
• Supplied service pads: BP-35 compound; verify suitability for the intended operating conditions.
• Caliper finish and port: Type III Anodize; hydraulic inlet 1/8-27 NPT.
• Hydraulic service calipers: Forged Superlite 4R; 4 pistons per caliper; Forged Aluminium body; radial mounting; Thermlock pistons.
• Rotor dimensions: 13.06 in; 331.72 mm outside diameter; 1.25 in; 31.75 mm thick.

Fitment & Compatibility

Confirm Chevrolet Camaro or Pontiac Firebird fitment within 1982–1992 and compare the original single- or dual-piston disc-spindle arrangement. The DS1398 machining procedure includes drilling/tapping the two mounting holes and cutting off interfering ears. Check the stated +0.25-inch hub offset per side, 1/2-20 studs and 17-inch wheel outline. Prolonged low-temperature use of the supplied BP-35 race pads increases wear.
