A 12.19-inch dynamic lug-drive rotor and supplied aluminum wheel hub distinguish this Superlite 4R front competition kit. Four-piston Type III-anodized calipers, Thermlock pistons and BP-35 pads provide the documented race configuration for Camaro and Firebird disc spindles. Based in Camarillo, California, Wilwood Engineering was founded by Bill Wood in 1977. Wilwood designs and manufactures disc brake systems for motorsport, specialized vehicles and street-performance applications. Calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines must be selected in relation to the other components in the finished brake system.

• Manufacturer part number — 140-16117; supplied as one front axle brake kit.
• Rotor mounting hats — Aluminum; Type III Anodize; hat offset 1.420 inches. This is a hat dimension, not the axle offset.
• Minimum nominal wheel diameter — 15 in; 381 mm; full spoke/barrel clearance must be checked using the installation drawing.
• Flexline reference — Front Line Kit: 220-6856.
• Mechanical contents — Separate wheel hubs are included; mounting hardware supplied; spindles not included.
• Hydraulic installation — Braided flexlines are included; master cylinder not included; brake booster not included.
• Rotor dimensions — 12.19 in; 309.63 mm outside diameter; 1.25 in; 31.75 mm thick.
• Supplied wheel-hub pattern and studs — 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm bolt circle; wheel-stud thread 1/2-20. The supplied hubs establish this wheel pattern; check wheel seating and stud engagement.
• Caliper finish and port — Type III Anodize; hydraulic inlet 1/8-27 NPT.
• Hydraulic service calipers — Forged Superlite 4R; 4 pistons per caliper; Forged Aluminium body; radial mounting; Thermlock pistons.
• Rotor material and surface — Spec-37 Iron; vented; GT Slotted; surface finish Plain.
• Supplied service pads — BP-35 compound; verify suitability for the intended operating conditions.

Fitment & Compatibility

For Chevrolet Camaro and Pontiac Firebird (1982–1992), inspect the exact original disc spindle and brake-package entry. DS1397 requires drilling and tapping two spindle holes and removing interfering ears; a qualified machine shop should perform those modifications. Do not treat the installation as an untouched-spindle replacement. Check the 5 x 4.75-inch hub pattern, supplied 1/2-20 studs, track change and full wheel envelope. Race pads require heat; cold operation accelerates wear.
