Wilwood Rear Superlite 4R/ST Road Race Brake Kit for BMW M3 (1995–1999), 13-Inch GT Rotors and Parking Brake Delete

This rear Superlite 4R/ST race conversion removes the parking-brake hardware and replaces the service brake with four-piston calipers and dynamically mounted 13-inch GT rotor rings. The configuration is specific to the documented BMW M3 rear upright and hub, with braided flexlines included. Wilwood Engineering, founded by Bill Wood in 1977, designs and manufactures disc brake systems from Camarillo, California. Its motorsport, street-performance and specialized product range spans calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines. A conversion must be considered as a complete brake system when selecting those parts.

• Manufacturer part number: 140-16017; supplied as one rear axle brake kit.
• Rotor dimensions: 13.00 in; 330.2 mm outside diameter; 1.00 in; 25.4 mm thick.
• Supplied service pads: BP-35 compound; verify suitability for the intended operating conditions.
• Mechanical contents: Separate wheel hubs are not included; mounting hardware supplied; spindles not included.
• Hydraulic installation: Braided flexlines are included; master cylinder not included; brake booster not included.
• Caliper finish and port: Type III Anodize; hydraulic inlet 1/8-27 NPT.
• Cataloged rotor/hat mounting-hole pattern: 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm bolt circle; cataloged stud-hole clearances 0.610 in; 15.49 mm. The existing hub or axle flange determines the vehicle wheel pattern and stud specification. These rotor/hat drillings do not convert that pattern.
• Rotor material and surface: Spec-37 Iron; vented; GT Slotted; surface finish Plain.
• Minimum nominal wheel diameter: 17 in; 431.8 mm; full spoke/barrel clearance must be checked using the installation drawing.
• Flexline reference: Rear Line Kit: 220-16016.
• Hydraulic service calipers: Forged Narrow Superlite 4R; 4 pistons per caliper; Forged Aluminium body; radial mounting; Thermlock pistons.
• Rotor mounting hats: Aluminum; Type III Anodize; hat offset 1.080 inches. This is a hat dimension, not the axle offset.

Fitment & Compatibility

BMW M3 applications span 1995–1999. Review DS1391 for rear-upright preparation, 1.080-inch hat positioning and hub-register checks; it does not retain a parking-brake function. Confirm the front-to-rear hydraulic balance and the full 17-inch wheel-clearance drawing. BP-35 competition pads require heat and can produce accelerated wear in prolonged low-temperature service.
