Product details
AERO6R/ST six-piston calipers provide the service braking in this BMW front race package. The wider caliper body accepts 20 mm pads, while 14-inch directional-vane GT rings attach through hard-anodized dynamic lug-drive hats to the retained hubs. From its Camarillo, California base, Wilwood Engineering designs and manufactures disc brake systems and components. Bill Wood founded the company in 1977. Its calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines serve motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications, with individual parts matched to the complete braking arrangement.
Technical Details
- Manufacturer part number: 140-16010; supplied as one front axle brake kit.
- Rotor dimensions: 14.00 in; 355.6 mm outside diameter; 1.25 in; 31.75 mm thick.
- Hydraulic installation: Braided flexlines are included; master cylinder not included; brake booster not included.
- Rotor mounting hats: Aluminum; Type III Anodize; hat offset 0.550 inches. This is a hat dimension, not the axle offset.
- Minimum nominal wheel diameter: 18 in; 457.2 mm; full spoke/barrel clearance must be checked using the installation drawing.
- Supplied service pads: BP-35 compound; verify suitability for the intended operating conditions.
- Mechanical contents: Separate wheel hubs are not included; mounting hardware supplied; spindles not included.
- Caliper finish and port: Type III Anodize; hydraulic inlet 1/8-27 NPT.
- Hydraulic service calipers: AERO6; 6 pistons per caliper; Forged Aluminium body; radial mounting; Thermlock pistons.
- Cataloged rotor/hat mounting-hole pattern: 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm bolt circle; cataloged stud-hole clearances 0.610 in; 15.49 mm. The existing hub or axle flange determines the vehicle wheel pattern and stud specification. These rotor/hat drillings do not convert that pattern.
- Rotor material and surface: Spec-37 Iron; vented; GT Slotted; surface finish Plain.
- Flexline reference: Front Line Kit: 220-8799.
Fitment & Compatibility
Use the listed M3 (1995–1999) or Z3 M Roadster 3.2-liter (1998–2001) disc-spindle application. DS1390 specifies the hub-register and mounting checks; nominal 18-inch wheels still need spoke and barrel clearance. Match the documented 0.550-inch hat and cataloged 5 x 4.75-inch pattern to the hub. The high-temperature BP-35 pads are unsuitable for extended cold operation.
Use the fitment table below to confirm each model, year, trim and brake-package condition. The stated span does not override an individual application note.
For help checking the installation, contact PMB Performance with the vehicle year and photographs of the existing brakes. Our more than 20 years of parts experience helps identify the details that model names alone cannot settle.
Review the Installation instructions before selecting hardware or checking wheel clearance.
