Product details
Add an electrically operated parking brake to a custom rear brake installation using this black-caliper retrofit kit for 0.81-inch rotors. It supplies a matched pair of motor-driven calipers, the controller, wiring harness and switch hardware. This is a static parking mechanism, not a replacement hydraulic service-brake system. Most installations require custom mounting brackets; the kit does not include rotors, hats or vehicle-specific bracketry. Wilwood Engineering, founded by Bill Wood in 1977, designs and manufactures disc brake systems from its Camarillo, California base. Motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications use its calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines. Correct component selection depends on the requirements of the entire braking system.
Technical Details
- Manufacturer part number: 140-15978-BK. Quantity: one kit for the stated axle/application.
- No replacement wheel hubs are supplied; retain or provide the documented matching hub arrangement.
- Rotor compatibility: 0.75–0.81-inch thickness, nominal 0.81 inch; rotor diameter 11.00–14.00 inches. Caliper mounting centers: 4.75 inches. Custom brackets must locate the pads correctly on the rotor.
- Parking caliper: Electronic Parking Brake; 1 piston; steel piston material. Lug mounting, black powder coat finish.
- Published piston bore: 1.25 inches. Supplied pad compound: BP-10.
- Includes paired electronic parking calipers, controller, wiring harness, switch and supplied control hardware. Custom caliper mounting brackets, rotors, hubs and hydraulic service brakes are not included.
Fitment & Compatibility
Universal retrofit for a custom rear parking-brake installation using 0.81-inch-thick rotors; no vehicle-specific bolt-on fitment is claimed. Confirm caliper width, mounting-center spacing, rotor diameter/contact position and clearance for the motors, wheels and suspension. Custom brackets are normally required and are not included. Retain a properly configured hydraulic service-brake system. The EPB is intended for static parking hold, not emergency stopping, and needs the documented electrical supply, fused wiring and controller installation.
Use PMB Performance’s 20+ years of parts and fitment experience when checking a modified brake layout. The installed mounting hardware and measured wheel space are more useful than model and year alone.
