Wilwood Front AERO6 Brake Conversion with Black Calipers and 14-Inch Drilled/Slotted Rotors, Six-Lug GM Truck/SUV Iron ProSpindles (Listed 1963–1987 Applications)

This six-lug AERO6 front package supplies black calipers, 14-inch drilled/slotted rotors and BP-10 pads for the documented Wilwood iron ProSpindle arrangement. Separate hats mount to the included 6 × 5.50-inch aluminum hubs. Wheel backspacing must account for the published year-dependent change in wheel position. Check spoke clearance for the AERO6 caliper and select suitable braided hoses separately. Based in Camarillo, California, Wilwood Engineering was founded by Bill Wood in 1977. Its disc brake systems serve motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. The range includes calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines, with each component chosen for its role in the complete brake installation.

• Service caliper: AERO6; 6 pistons; stainless piston material. Radial mounting, black powder coat finish.
• Published piston bores: 1.75, 1.38, 1.38 inches. Supplied pad compound: BP-10.
• Caliper hydraulic inlet: 1/8-27 NPT.
• Rotor specification: 14.00-inch outside diameter × 1.25-inch thickness; SRP drilled & slotted faces. Spec-37 Iron construction; SRP Drilled Rotor design; published vane configuration: 72 CV.
• Rotor hats: aluminum, black e-coat finish; Big Brake Hat - Flared Bell. Hat offset: 1.380 inch.
• Supplied hub assembly: Hub - Hat Mount, aluminum, bare finish.
• Wheel mounting pattern: 6 x 5.50 inches.
• Mounting hardware and the specified pads are included. Spindles, master cylinder and brake booster are not supplied.
• Minimum nominal wheel diameter: 18 inches. The wheel must also clear the actual caliper and rotor profile in the installation drawing.

Fitment & Compatibility

This black AERO6/SRP package uses six-lug 6 × 5.50-inch hubs. The supporting spindle must be Wilwood's specified one-piece iron Pro Drop design, which is not included; an original GM spindle cannot be used. Match the detailed truck/SUV year and option row in the table below. For 1963–1970 applications the stock-relative wheel movement is 0.41 inch outward; for 1971–1987 it is 0.06 inch inward. Verify wheel backspacing, complete hub seating and space around the larger AERO6 caliper before assembly. Suitable hydraulic hoses are ordered separately and need to clear surrounding parts through steering lock and suspension travel. Review master-cylinder output and rear-brake balance as a complete system.
