Black AERO6 six-piston calipers are paired with 14-inch GT rotors and six-lug aluminum hubs for the required truck iron ProSpindles. The radial caliper shape differs from the Superlite family, making this kit's clearance drawing essential. BP-20 pads and separate rotor hats are supplied. The GM truck/SUV application entries presume Wilwood one-piece iron Pro Drop spindles are installed; factory spindles do not fit. Bill Wood founded Wilwood Engineering in 1977; the company is based in Camarillo, California. It designs and manufactures calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. This kit is one configuration within that disc-brake-system range and must be matched to the vehicle build.

Technical Details

  • Manufacturer part number: 140-15947. Quantity: one kit for the stated axle/application.
  • Minimum nominal wheel diameter: 18 inches. The wheel must also clear the actual caliper and rotor profile in the installation drawing.
  • Rotor specification: 14.00-inch outside diameter × 1.25-inch thickness; GT slotted faces. Spec-37 Iron construction; GT 72 Curved Vane design; published vane configuration: 72 CV.
  • Rotor hats: aluminum, black e-coat finish; Big Brake Hat - Flared Bell. Hat offset: 1.380 inch.
  • Supplied hub assembly: Hub - Hat Mount, aluminum, bare finish.
  • Wheel mounting pattern: 6 x 5.50 inches.
  • Service caliper: AERO6; 6 pistons; stainless piston material. Radial mounting, black powder coat finish.
  • Published piston bores: 1.75, 1.38, 1.38 inches. Supplied pad compound: BP-20.
  • Caliper hydraulic inlet: 1/8-27 NPT.
  • Brake hoses are not included. Manufacturer line-kit reference(s), sold separately: 220-7056, 220-11237, 220-12168.
  • Mounting hardware and the specified pads are included. Spindles, master cylinder and brake booster are not supplied.

Fitment & Compatibility

AERO6 calipers need their own wheel-clearance check on the six-lug GM truck/SUV builds listed below. Confirm a 6 × 5.50-inch wheel pattern and the documented Wilwood C10 one-piece iron Pro Drop spindle; the kit excludes factory-spindle installations. The spindle and brake combination moves the wheel 0.41 inch outboard on 1963–1970 applications, or 0.06 inch inboard on 1971–1987 applications, relative to the original parts. Verify clearance to the fender and suspension with that movement included. Spindles are not supplied, and braided lines must be chosen for the chassis connection and available travel.
