Product details
This Wilwood AERO6 kit is a front 14-inch AERO6 hub upgrade for 1957–1967 F-100 Trucks with Factory Drum Spindles. AERO6 calipers use 14 x 1.25-inch rotors on separate aluminum hubs and hats for the verified early F-100 spindle. The kit belongs to Wilwood Engineering's range of disc brake systems and components for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Bill Wood founded the company in 1977; it is based in Camarillo, California, and produces calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines for complete brake-system planning.
Technical Details
- Manufacturer part number: 140-14839-D.
- Match the AERO6 caliper architecture when selecting related components: radial attachment, 6 stainless pistons, forged aluminum body and Black Powder Coat finish.
- Use a compatible hose adapter for the caliper's 1/8-27 NPT inlet.
- Pad selection is BP-10; piston-bore measurements are 1.62, 1.12, 1.12 inches. Confirm those values for any system changes.
- For rotor replacement, match all four specifications: 14.00 in; 355.6 mm outside diameter, 1.25 in; 31.75 mm thickness, Spec-37 Iron and the srp drilled & slotted surface. Rotor construction: vented.
- For the rotor-to-hub interface, the kit supplies separate aluminum hats finished in Black E-Coat.
- Attachment dimensions to confirm are 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm for the wheel mounting pattern(s) and 1/2-20 for the wheel-stud thread.
- Wheel mounting is through the included aluminum hubs; check their exact lug circles and stud threads before selecting wheels.
- Included installation parts cover the kit mounting hardware, with spindles, brake booster and master cylinder excluded.
- Plan the hydraulic connection separately: this kit has no hoses. Check line length and end fittings against the vehicle. Separate reference: 220-11237.
- Before ordering wheels, check the full inside profile against the drawing and the published 18 in; 457.2 mm minimum diameter.
- One brake kit is supplied for the specified application and axle position.
Fitment & Compatibility
Match the original drum-spindle arrangement and exact listed year/drive rows; 1959–1967 specifies 4 x 2. DS-1265 covers the hub bearings and radial brackets. Wheels must match 5 x 4.50 or 5 x 4.75-inch hubs and pass the clearance drawing; 5 x 5.50-inch wheels are not supported by these hubs. Models covered: F-100. Use the complete application table at the bottom for the precise year, submodel, brake option and note attached to each row.
For fitment assistance, provide PMB Performance with the existing brake configuration and measured mounting/wheel details. Our 20+ years of parts experience support checking the complete assembly rather than relying only on a model name.
Manufacturer Warning
Applicable to the included brake pads only: Wilwood warns of exposure to arsenic, cadmium, hexavalent chromium compounds, lead, nickel, cobalt and antimony trioxide, chemicals known to California to cause cancer or reproductive harm. More information: www.P65Warnings.ca.gov.
