Wilwood Red Superlite 6R Calipers with 14-Inch GT Front Discs and Five-Lug Hubs for 1957–1967 F-100

This Wilwood Superlite 6R kit is a front 14-inch hub conversion for Ford F-100 1957–1967 Drum-Spindle Trucks. Separate aluminum hubs and hats carry 14 x 1.10-inch rotors, paired with narrow six-piston Superlite calipers. From its Camarillo, California base, Wilwood Engineering designs disc brake systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized needs. Founded in 1977 by Bill Wood, its range covers calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines chosen to work within a complete brake system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14838-R.
• At each caliper, the Superlite 6R configuration provides 6 pistons in stainless, housed in forged aluminum. The caliper attaches by radial mounting and is finished in Red Powder Coat.
• Inlet-port specification for hose/fitting selection is 1/8-27 NPT.
• For hydraulic matching, use the published 1.62, 1.12, 1.12-inch piston bores. Pads are the BP-20 compound.
• This version supplies gt slotted rotors in Spec-37 Iron. Their 14.00 in; 355.6 mm diameter and 1.10 in; 27.94 mm section are matched to the listed vented brake package.
• Rotor hats are individual aluminum components with Black E-Coat protection.
• The mounting interface uses 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm; verify the wheel-stud thread of 1/2-20 separately from the bolt circle.
• This hub kit includes aluminum wheel hubs. Their wheel-bolt layout and stud threads must match the chosen wheels.
• The listed brackets and fasteners belong to the kit. Spindles and the master-cylinder/booster assembly are outside the package.
• No hydraulic flexlines accompany the kit; supply the correct hoses and fittings for the documented caliper/chassis interface. Separate reference: 220-11237.
• Wheel clearance must be measured using the installation template; the manufacturer lists 18 in; 457.2 mm as the nominal minimum.
• Order quantity refers to one brake conversion kit, not an individual loose rotor or caliper.

Fitment & Compatibility

Confirm the listed 1957–1967 F-100 factory drum spindle, with 4 x 2 specified for 1959–1967. Follow DS-1264 for bearing and bracket installation. The five-lug wheel patterns are 5 x 4.50 and 5 x 4.75 inches; the kit is distinct from the Classic Series 5 x 5.50-inch option. Models covered: F-100.
