Wilwood Red Superlite 6R Front Brakes with 12.88-Inch Drilled/Slotted Rotors and Aluminum Hubs for 1957–1967 F-100

This Wilwood Superlite 6R kit is a front 12.88-inch hub brake conversion for 1957–1967 Ford F-100 Factory Drum Spindles. The hub kit supplies separate aluminum wheel hubs, rotor hats and 12.88-inch Spec-37 rotor rings with six-piston calipers. The kit belongs to Wilwood Engineering's range of disc brake systems and components for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Bill Wood founded the company in 1977; it is based in Camarillo, California, and produces calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines for complete brake-system planning.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14837-DR.
• The specified radial caliper is a Superlite 6R. It combines a Red Powder Coat forged aluminum body with 6 pistons per unit; the published piston material is stainless.
• Bores and friction material: 1.62, 1.12, 1.12 inches, with BP-10 pads supplied for the specified calipers.
• The vented discs have srp drilled & slotted friction surfaces and Spec-37 Iron construction. Nominal dimensions are 1.10 in; 27.94 mm through the braking section and 12.88 in; 327.15 mm at the outside edge.
• Aluminum hats with Black E-Coat finish complete the two-piece rotor assembly.
• Included wheel hubs use aluminum construction and the listed threaded-stud arrangement. They are separate from the friction discs.
• The wheel-stud thread is 1/2-20; the matching wheel mounting pattern(s) are 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm. These describe different aspects of the attachment.
• When planning the line connection, account for the 1/8-27 NPT caliper inlet.
• The supplied hardware mounts the specified brake package. It does not include replacement spindles, a brake booster or a master cylinder.
• The caliper package calls for at least the published 17 in; 431.8 mm wheel diameter, plus sufficient spoke and inner-barrel clearance.
• Flexlines are excluded from the brake package. Select the chassis-specific hoses and confirm safe clearance throughout travel. Separate reference: 220-11237.
• This is a kit listing; one package contains the brake components described above.

Fitment & Compatibility

Use the listed F-100 drum-spindle years; 1959–1967 entries specify 4 x 2. Match the factory spindle and DS-1263 bearing/locknut configuration. These hubs use 5 x 4.50/5 x 4.75-inch patterns, not the 5 x 5.50 pattern of the smaller one-piece Classic Series kit. Models covered: F-100.
