Wilwood Black Superlite 6R Front Hub Kit for 1957–1967 Ford F-100, 12.88-Inch GT Rotors and 5x4.50/4.75 Wheels

This Wilwood Superlite 6R kit is a front 12.88-inch hub brake conversion for 1957–1967 Ford F-100 Factory Drum Spindles. The hub kit supplies separate aluminum wheel hubs, rotor hats and 12.88-inch Spec-37 rotor rings with six-piston calipers. From its Camarillo, California base, Wilwood Engineering designs disc brake systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized needs. Founded in 1977 by Bill Wood, its range covers calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines chosen to work within a complete brake system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14837.
• Caliper bodies are forged aluminum, with Black Powder Coat treatment. This is the radial-mounted Superlite 6R version, using 6 stainless pistons per caliper.
• This configuration uses BP-20 brake pads with caliper bores listed as 1.62, 1.12, 1.12 inches.
• Across the rotor face the measurement is 12.88 in; 327.15 mm; the braking section is 1.10 in; 27.94 mm thick. Both discs use the specified vented Spec-37 Iron design and gt slotted finish.
• The supplied aluminum hats are separate from the friction rings and carry a Black E-Coat finish.
• The package supplies separate aluminum hubs, rather than relying on the original hubs. Use the listed wheel patterns and thread specifications.
• For this kit the published wheel mounting pattern(s) are 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm. Check the specified 1/2-20 wheel-stud thread.
• Fluid enters through a 1/8-27 NPT caliper port; match the adapter accordingly.
• Mounting hardware accompanies the brake components; the vehicle's spindle, master cylinder and booster are separate items.
• The stated wheel requirement is 17 in; 431.8 mm. Nominal diameter alone does not establish clearance around the caliper and rotor.
• A suitable separately purchased line set is required, with compatible fittings and routing. Brake hoses are not supplied. Separate reference: 220-11237.
• The components are sold together as one kit for the stated installation.

Fitment & Compatibility

Use the listed F-100 drum-spindle years; 1959–1967 entries specify 4 x 2. Match the factory spindle and DS-1263 bearing/locknut configuration. These hubs use 5 x 4.50/5 x 4.75-inch patterns, not the 5 x 5.50 pattern of the smaller one-piece Classic Series kit. Models covered: F-100.
