Wilwood Front Dynalite-M Classic Brake Kit for Chevrolet Bel Air, Biscayne, Impala & Caprice Drum Spindles, Black Calipers

This Wilwood Dynalite-M kit is a front drum-spindle disc conversion for 1965–1968 Chevrolet Bel Air, Biscayne, Impala and Caprice. The 11.50-inch one-piece rotor/hub castings use four-piston Dynalite-M calipers and a dedicated later-Chevrolet spindle bracket. Wilwood Engineering designs complete disc brake systems as well as calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines. Established by Bill Wood in 1977 and based in Camarillo, California, it serves motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications; individual parts require a matched system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14808.
• The friction discs measure 11.50 in; 292.1 mm across and 1.00 in; 25.4 mm thick; plain face surfaces are used on vented Iron rotors.
• Each caliper carries 4 pistons made from stainless. The Dynalite-M design uses forged aluminum, lug mounting and a Black Powder Coat finish.
• BP-10 pads are supplied; the listed bore dimensions are 1.75, 1.75 inches.
• Connect the brake line to the specified 1/8-27 NPT inlet.
• Wheel mounting pattern(s) measure 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm. The associated listed stud diameter is 0.50 in; 12.70 mm.
• An integral iron rotor/hub replaces the drum assembly. The package does not contain an additional separate aluminum hub.
• Start wheel selection at 15 in; 381 mm; the barrel and spokes still need checking against the caliper-clearance template.
• This package includes its mounting fasteners. It excludes the spindles, master cylinder and booster.
• Order suitable flexlines separately; none are included. Match the chassis fittings and allow full steering/suspension travel. Separate reference: 220-7699.
• Sold as a complete kit for the specified front installation.

Fitment & Compatibility

Use the listed 1965–1968 Bel Air, Biscayne and Impala plus 1966–1968 Caprice drum-brake spindles. DS-1250 distinguishes this bearing/bracket interface from earlier Impala assemblies. Do not select it for a factory-disc spindle solely by model/year. Models covered: Bel Air, Biscayne, Impala and Caprice.
