Wilwood 12.88-Inch Drilled Rear Brake Conversion for 2001–2006 BMW M3 E46 with Black Superlite Calipers

This Wilwood Superlite 4R kit is a rear disc upgrade retaining factory parking brakes for BMW M3 E46 2001–2006. Four-piston Superlite 4R calipers and 12.88-inch rotors use parking-brake hats designed around the existing BMW mechanism. From its Camarillo, California base, Wilwood Engineering designs disc brake systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized needs. Founded in 1977 by Bill Wood, its range covers calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines chosen to work within a complete brake system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14752-D.
• Match the Superlite 4R caliper architecture when selecting related components: radial attachment, 4 stainless pistons, forged aluminum body and Black Powder Coat finish.
• Pad selection is BP-10; piston-bore measurements are 1.25, 1.25 inches. Confirm those values for any system changes.
• For rotor replacement, match all four specifications: 12.88 in; 327.15 mm outside diameter, 1.10 in; 27.94 mm thickness, Spec-37 Iron and the srp drilled & slotted surface. Rotor construction: vented.
• For the rotor-to-hub interface, the kit supplies separate aluminum hats finished in Black E-Coat.
• The kit does not supply replacement hubs; confirm the dimensions of those already installed.
• Attachment dimensions to confirm are 5 X 4.72 in; 5 X 119.89 mm for the wheel mounting pattern(s) and 0.610 in; 15.49 mm for the nominal hat stud-hole clearance diameter.
• Use a compatible hose adapter for the caliper's 1/8-27 NPT inlet.
• Included installation parts cover the kit mounting hardware, with spindles, brake booster and master cylinder excluded.
• Before ordering wheels, check the full inside profile against the drawing and the published 17 in; 431.8 mm minimum diameter.
• The braided flexline package is 220-14759, supplied in a listed 20.00 in length. Inspect end connections and routing before use.
• One brake kit is supplied for the specified application and axle position.

Fitment & Compatibility

Match the listed 2001–2006 E46 M3 rear assembly. The original parking brake, OE master-cylinder output and ABS functions are retained for the documented installation. DS-1252 requires dust-shield trimming and bracket-bolt clearance notches; existing parking shoes/cables remain in service. Models covered: M3.
