Wilwood Rear Superlite 4R Brake Kit for BMW E46 M3 (2001–2006), Black Calipers & 12.88-Inch GT Parking-Hat Rotors

This Wilwood Superlite 4R kit is a rear disc upgrade retaining factory parking brakes for BMW M3 E46 2001–2006. Four-piston Superlite 4R calipers and 12.88-inch rotors use parking-brake hats designed around the existing BMW mechanism. Bill Wood founded Wilwood Engineering in 1977. Based in Camarillo, California, the company designs and manufactures complete disc brake systems and individual calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines for motorsport, street-performance and specialized installations.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14752.
• Caliper bodies are forged aluminum, with Black Powder Coat treatment. This is the radial-mounted Superlite 4R version, using 4 stainless pistons per caliper.
• This configuration uses BP-20 brake pads with caliper bores listed as 1.25, 1.25 inches.
• Across the rotor face the measurement is 12.88 in; 327.15 mm; the braking section is 1.10 in; 27.94 mm thick. Both discs use the specified vented Spec-37 Iron design and gt slotted finish.
• The supplied aluminum hats are separate from the friction rings and carry a Black E-Coat finish.
• Wheel hubs are separate from this kit and must match the documented existing assembly.
• For this kit the published wheel mounting pattern(s) are 5 X 4.72 in; 5 X 119.89 mm. Check the specified 0.610 in; 15.49 mm nominal hat stud-hole clearance diameter.
• Fluid enters through a 1/8-27 NPT caliper port; match the adapter accordingly.
• Mounting hardware accompanies the brake components; the vehicle's spindle, master cylinder and booster are separate items.
• The stated wheel requirement is 17 in; 431.8 mm. Nominal diameter alone does not establish clearance around the caliper and rotor.
• Brake hoses are included: 220-14759, 20.00 in. Confirm adequate travel and the correct chassis-side fittings during assembly.
• The components are sold together as one kit for the stated installation.

Fitment & Compatibility

Match the listed 2001–2006 E46 M3 rear assembly. The original parking brake, OE master-cylinder output and ABS functions are retained for the documented installation. DS-1252 requires dust-shield trimming and bracket-bolt clearance notches; existing parking shoes/cables remain in service. Models covered: M3.
