Wilwood Red Six-Piston Front Brakes for Town Car, Crown Victoria, Marauder & Grand Marquis with 12.88-Inch SRP Rotors

This Wilwood Superlite 6R kit is a front 12.88-inch disc upgrade for Crown Victoria, Town Car, Grand Marquis and Marauder. The 12.88 x 1.25-inch rotors mount on separate aluminum hats and work with six-piston Superlite calipers. From its Camarillo, California base, Wilwood Engineering designs disc brake systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized needs. Founded in 1977 by Bill Wood, its range covers calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines chosen to work within a complete brake system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14680-DR.
• The specified radial caliper is a Superlite 6R. It combines a Red Powder Coat forged aluminum body with 6 pistons per unit; the published piston material is stainless.
• Bores and friction material: 1.75, 1.25, 1.25 inches, with BP-10 pads supplied for the specified calipers.
• The vented discs have srp drilled & slotted friction surfaces and Spec-37 Iron construction. Nominal dimensions are 1.25 in; 31.75 mm through the braking section and 12.88 in; 327.15 mm at the outside edge.
• Aluminum hats with Black E-Coat finish complete the two-piece rotor assembly.
• Use the specified original or compatible existing hubs. The kit contains no wheel hubs.
• The nominal hat stud-hole clearance diameter is 0.580 in; 14.73 mm; the matching wheel mounting pattern(s) are 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm. These describe different aspects of the attachment.
• When planning the line connection, account for the 1/8-27 NPT caliper inlet.
• The supplied hardware mounts the specified brake package. It does not include replacement spindles, a brake booster or a master cylinder.
• The caliper package calls for at least the published 17 in; 431.8 mm wheel diameter, plus sufficient spoke and inner-barrel clearance.
• Flexlines are excluded from the brake package. Select the chassis-specific hoses and confirm safe clearance throughout travel. Separate reference: 220-14690.
• This is a kit listing; one package contains the brake components described above.

Fitment & Compatibility

Use 2003–2011 Crown Victoria, Town Car and Grand Marquis plus 2003–2004 Marauder as listed. Respect the wheelbase-specific rows. DS-1240 identifies hose 220-14690 for Crown Victoria only; for the other models confirm suitable separate hose length, fittings and routing. Crown Victoria hardlines need repositioning to meet the new fittings. Models covered: Crown Victoria, Town Car, Grand Marquis and Marauder.
