This Wilwood Superlite 6R kit is a front 12.88-inch disc upgrade for Crown Victoria, Town Car, Grand Marquis and Marauder. The 12.88 x 1.25-inch rotors mount on separate aluminum hats and work with six-piston Superlite calipers. Wilwood Engineering began in 1977 with founder Bill Wood and is based in Camarillo, California. It designs disc brake systems and components for racing, performance-road and specialized use, from calipers and rotors to master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines; the complete system determines component selection.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14680.
• Caliper bodies are forged aluminum, with Black Powder Coat treatment. This is the radial-mounted Superlite 6R version, using 6 stainless pistons per caliper.
• This configuration uses BP-10 brake pads with caliper bores listed as 1.75, 1.25, 1.25 inches.
• Across the rotor face the measurement is 12.88 in; 327.15 mm; the braking section is 1.25 in; 31.75 mm thick. Both discs use the specified vented Spec-37 Iron design and gt slotted finish.
• The supplied aluminum hats are separate from the friction rings and carry a Black E-Coat finish.
• Wheel hubs are separate from this kit and must match the documented existing assembly.
• For this kit the published wheel mounting pattern(s) are 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm. Check the specified 0.580 in; 14.73 mm nominal hat stud-hole clearance diameter.
• Fluid enters through a 1/8-27 NPT caliper port; match the adapter accordingly.
• Mounting hardware accompanies the brake components; the vehicle's spindle, master cylinder and booster are separate items.
• The stated wheel requirement is 17 in; 431.8 mm. Nominal diameter alone does not establish clearance around the caliper and rotor.
• A suitable separately purchased line set is required, with compatible fittings and routing. Brake hoses are not supplied. Separate reference: 220-14690.
• The components are sold together as one kit for the stated installation.

Fitment & Compatibility

Use 2003–2011 Crown Victoria, Town Car and Grand Marquis plus 2003–2004 Marauder as listed. Respect the wheelbase-specific rows. DS-1240 identifies hose 220-14690 for Crown Victoria only; for the other models confirm suitable separate hose length, fittings and routing. Crown Victoria hardlines need repositioning to meet the new fittings. Models covered: Crown Victoria, Town Car, Grand Marquis and Marauder.
