Wilwood Red Four-Piston Front Drum-Brake Conversion for Classic Chevrolet Applications, Plain Integral-Hub Rotors

This Wilwood Dynalite-M kit is a front Classic Series disc conversion for Classic Chevrolet Drum Spindles and 1963–1964 Corvette. Plain 11.50-inch iron rotor/hub castings combine with four-piston Dynalite-M calipers for the verified drum-spindle applications. Founded by Bill Wood in 1977 and based in Camarillo, California, Wilwood Engineering develops disc brake systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Its calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines must be selected as parts of a complete, matched braking system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14663-R.
• At each caliper, the Dynalite-M configuration provides 4 pistons in stainless, housed in forged aluminum. The caliper attaches by lug mounting and is finished in Red Powder Coat.
• For hydraulic matching, use the published 1.75, 1.75-inch piston bores. Pads are the BP-10 compound.
• This version supplies plain face rotors in Iron. Their 11.50 in; 292.1 mm diameter and 1.00 in; 25.4 mm section are matched to the listed vented brake package.
• The replacement casting incorporates the rotor and hub together. This version does not use a separate aluminum wheel hub or bolt-on rotor hat.
• The mounting interface uses 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm; verify the listed stud diameter of 0.50 in; 12.70 mm separately from the bolt circle.
• Inlet-port specification for hose/fitting selection is 1/8-27 NPT.
• The listed brackets and fasteners belong to the kit. Spindles and the master-cylinder/booster assembly are outside the package.
• Wheel clearance must be measured using the installation template; the manufacturer lists 15 in; 381 mm as the nominal minimum.
• No hydraulic flexlines accompany the kit; supply the correct hoses and fittings for the documented caliper/chassis interface. Separate reference: 220-7699.
• Order quantity refers to one brake conversion kit, not an individual loose rotor or caliper.

Fitment & Compatibility

Match the complete Chevrolet model/year list, including 1955–1957 passenger cars, listed 1959–1964 full-size cars and 1963–1964 Corvette. Follow the appropriate DS-1243 bracket/hardware configuration; do not assume every year between these groups is listed. Models covered: Bel Air, Nomad, One-Fifty Series, Sedan Delivery, Two-Ten Series, Del Ray, Biscayne, Brookwood, El Camino, Impala, Kingswood, Parkwood and Corvette. If a separate rear parking-brake conversion is also planned, a universal parking cable may need cable or vehicle changes; it is not part of this front kit.

Separate universal hose choices are 220-7056 (14-inch), 220-7699 (16-inch) or 220-8307 (18-inch). Select the correct length and end fittings; these are alternatives, not three required kits.
