Wilwood Red Six-Piston Front Brakes with 14-Inch Drilled/Slotted Rotors for Six-Lug Tacoma, 4Runner, FJ Cruiser and Lexus GX

This Wilwood Superlite 6R kit is a front 14-inch brake upgrade for Toyota Tacoma/4Runner/FJ Cruiser and Lexus GX. The larger 14-inch Spec-37 rotors retain the application-specific six-lug hats and supplied braided lines. Wilwood Engineering, founded by Bill Wood in 1977, is based in Camarillo, California. The manufacturer supplies disc brake systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications, including calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines that must work together as a complete system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14578-DR.
• Wheel mounting pattern(s) measure 6 X 5.5 in; 6 X 139.7 mm. The associated nominal hat stud-hole clearance diameter is 0.520 in; 13.21 mm.
• Retain the compatible existing wheel hubs, which are not included in this kit.
• The friction discs measure 14.00 in; 355.6 mm across and 1.10 in; 27.94 mm thick; srp drilled & slotted surfaces are used on vented Spec-37 Iron rotors.
• The rotor rings attach to separate aluminum hats with a Black E-Coat finish.
• Each caliper carries 6 pistons made from stainless. The Superlite 6R design uses forged aluminum, radial mounting and a Red Powder Coat finish.
• BP-10 pads are supplied; the listed bore dimensions are 1.75, 1.25, 1.25 inches.
• Connect the brake line to the specified 1/8-27 NPT inlet.
• Start wheel selection at 18 in; 457.2 mm; the barrel and spokes still need checking against the caliper-clearance template.
• Braided hose kit 220-14618 is supplied; the published line length is 20.00 in. Check chassis fittings and full-travel routing.
• This package includes its mounting fasteners. It excludes the spindles, master cylinder and booster.
• Sold as a complete kit for the specified front installation.

Fitment & Compatibility

For the listed six-lug Tacoma 4 x 2/4 x 4 trims, 4Runner, FJ Cruiser, GX470 and GX460, verify the exact year and submodel rather than assuming all Toyota trucks share the hub. Dust-shield cutting is required by DS-1232; inspect full steering and suspension clearance. Models covered: GX470, 4Runner, Tacoma, FJ Cruiser and GX460.
