Wilwood Red Superlite Front Brake Conversion for Tacoma, 4Runner, FJ Cruiser and Lexus GX, 12.88-Inch SRP Rotors

Fit the listed six-lug Toyota or Lexus front hub with this red Superlite 6R brake package. Drilled-and-slotted 12.88-inch Spec-37 discs attach to deep aluminum hats, while stainless pistons and BP-10 pads provide the specified friction pairing. The kit supplies its braided flexlines, so hub identity, dust-shield cutting and actual wheel clearance are the main installation checks. Founded by Bill Wood in 1977 and based in Camarillo, California, Wilwood Engineering develops disc brake systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Its calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines must be selected as parts of a complete, matched braking system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14577-DR.
• Caliper bodies are forged aluminum, with Red Powder Coat treatment. This is the radial-mounted Superlite 6R version, using 6 stainless pistons per caliper.
• Fluid enters through a 1/8-27 NPT caliper port; match the adapter accordingly.
• This configuration uses BP-10 brake pads with caliper bores listed as 1.75, 1.25, 1.25 inches.
• Across the rotor face the measurement is 12.88 in; 327.15 mm; the braking section is 1.10 in; 27.94 mm thick. Both discs use the specified vented Spec-37 Iron design and srp drilled & slotted finish.
• The supplied aluminum hats are separate from the friction rings and carry a Black E-Coat finish.
• For this kit the published wheel mounting pattern(s) are 6 X 5.5 in; 6 X 139.7 mm. Check the specified 0.520 in; 13.21 mm nominal hat stud-hole clearance diameter.
• Wheel hubs are separate from this kit and must match the documented existing assembly.
• Mounting hardware accompanies the brake components; the vehicle's spindle, master cylinder and booster are separate items.
• Brake hoses are included: 220-14618, 20.00 in. Confirm adequate travel and the correct chassis-side fittings during assembly.
• The stated wheel requirement is 17 in; 431.8 mm. Nominal diameter alone does not establish clearance around the caliper and rotor.
• The components are sold together as one kit for the stated installation.

Fitment & Compatibility

These brackets and hats are for the exact Tacoma, 4Runner, FJ Cruiser, GX470 and GX460 entries. On Tacoma, preserve the six-lug 4x2/4x4 distinction and each later trim/year row. Cut the dust shield only as DS-1231 illustrates to clear the rotor and bracket. Check the factory hub register and 6x5.50-inch bolt circle against the hat before assembly; a shared brand or SUV model family is not sufficient.
