Wilwood Dynamic Lug-Drive 14-Inch Front Racing Brakes with AERO6 Calipers for Corvette C5/C6, XLR and Specified RideTech Hub Spindles

This front road-race package uses six-piston AERO6 calipers, BP-35 pads and 14.00 × 1.25-inch GT rotors. Stainless pistons and the wide caliper body accommodate the specified race-pad arrangement. Dynamic lug-drive rotor mounting connects the directional 72-vane rotors to forged aluminum hats. Founded in 1977 by Bill Wood, Camarillo, California-based Wilwood Engineering manufactures disc brake systems and components. Its motorsport, street-performance and specialized range spans calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines, with compatibility assessed across the complete braking system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14557.
• At each caliper, the AERO6 configuration provides 6 pistons in stainless, housed in forged aluminum. The caliper attaches by radial mounting and is finished in Type III Anodize.
• For hydraulic matching, use the published 1.62, 1.12, 1.12-inch piston bores. Pads are the BP-35 compound.
• This version supplies gt slotted rotors in Spec-37 Iron. Their 14.00 in; 355.6 mm diameter and 1.25 in; 31.75 mm section are matched to the listed vented brake package.
• Rotor hats are individual aluminum components with Type III Anodize protection.
• Hub compatibility is required for installation. No new wheel hubs are included.
• The mounting interface uses 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm; verify the nominal hat stud-hole clearance diameter of 0.520 in; 13.21 mm separately from the bolt circle.
• Inlet-port specification for hose/fitting selection is 1/8-27 NPT.
• The listed brackets and fasteners belong to the kit. Spindles and the master-cylinder/booster assembly are outside the package.
• Wheel clearance must be measured using the installation template; the manufacturer lists 18 in; 457.2 mm as the nominal minimum.
• No hydraulic flexlines accompany the kit; supply the correct hoses and fittings for the documented caliper/chassis interface. Separate reference: 220-8176 and 220-9100.
• Order quantity refers to one brake conversion kit, not an individual loose rotor or caliper.

Fitment & Compatibility

Direct vehicle applications include the listed 1997–2013 Corvette configurations and 2004–2009 Cadillac XLR. Earlier GM model entries depend on the specified RideTech hub spindle, so they must not be interpreted as fitment to the original spindle. Confirm the exact model year and option below, then compare the full wheel-clearance drawing with the proposed wheel. The catalog specifies an 18-inch minimum, subject to internal clearance. Braided flexlines are sold separately and must match the chassis and model year. Use this package for the documented competition application: extended low-temperature running with its race pads causes premature pad and rotor wear. Use the included high-temperature race pads for circuit conditions; extended low-temperature operation causes premature rotor and pad wear.

Kit may fit some 18" wheels. Check wheel clearance diagram in kit installation instructions before purchase.

Separate universal hose choices are 220-7056 (14-inch), 220-7699 (16-inch) or 220-8307 (18-inch). Select the correct length and end fittings; these are alternatives, not three required kits.

If a separate rear parking-brake conversion is also planned, a universal parking cable may need cable or vehicle changes; it is not part of this front kit.
