Wilwood 1960–1963 Chevrolet and GMC 2WD Front Disc Conversion, Red Six-Piston Calipers and Plain Rotor/Hubs

This Wilwood Superlite 6R kit is a front disc conversion for drum spindles for 1960–1963 Chevy and GMC 2WD Trucks. The 11.86-inch one-piece rotor/hub design is paired with six-piston Superlite calipers and BP-10 pads. Wilwood Engineering, founded by Bill Wood in 1977, is based in Camarillo, California. The manufacturer supplies disc brake systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications, including calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines that must work together as a complete system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14526-R.
• 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm; 5 x 5 in; 5 x 127 mm is the listed wheel mounting pattern(s) dimension. Listed stud diameter: 0.50 in; 12.70 mm.
• One-piece iron rotor/hub castings replace the original drum assemblies. Separate aluminum hubs and rotor hats are not used.
• Friction surface and size: plain face; 11.86 in; 301.24 mm diameter x 1.25 in; 31.75 mm thickness. The rotor material is Iron in a vented design.
• The calipers are Superlite 6R units with a Red Powder Coat exterior. A forged aluminum body locates 6 stainless pistons; attachment is radial mount.
• The matched pads use BP-10. Manufacturer bore figures for the caliper are 1.75, 1.25, 1.25 inches.
• The caliper accepts the listed 1/8-27 NPT hydraulic connection.
• Wheel minimum: 15 in; 381 mm. Confirm the complete wheel shape and mounting hardware clear the brake drawing.
• Brake lines are a separate purchase. Verify end fittings, safe routing and the length needed for this application. Separate reference: 220-12168.
• No spindle, booster or master cylinder is included; the kit does contain mounting hardware for the stated installation.
• This listing supplies one kit for the documented brake configuration.

Fitment & Compatibility

Use only the listed Chevrolet/GMC two-wheel-drive drum-spindle applications. DS-1225 separates 1963 spindles from 1960–1962 spindles; follow the appropriate hardware diagram. The kit includes the replacement integral rotor/hub casting, not a separate aluminum hub. Models covered: C10 Panel, C10 Pickup, Suburban and 1000 Series. Use the complete application table at the bottom for the precise year, submodel, brake option and note attached to each row.

If a separate rear parking-brake conversion is also planned, a universal parking cable may need cable or vehicle changes; it is not part of this front kit.
