Wilwood Red Superlite 6R Calipers and 12.88-Inch Drilled/Slotted Front Rotors for Audi A4, S4, RS4 and S5

This Wilwood Superlite 6R kit is a front disc upgrade for Audi A4, S4, RS4 and S5. The 12.88-inch rotor package uses narrow six-piston calipers, separate aluminum hats and included braided front hoses. Founded by Bill Wood in 1977 and based in Camarillo, California, Wilwood Engineering develops disc brake systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Its calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines must be selected as parts of a complete, matched braking system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14487-DR.
• The specified radial caliper is a Superlite 6R. It combines a Red Powder Coat forged aluminum body with 6 pistons per unit; the published piston material is stainless.
• When planning the line connection, account for the 1/8-27 NPT caliper inlet.
• Bores and friction material: 1.75, 1.25, 1.25 inches, with BP-10 pads supplied for the specified calipers.
• The vented discs have srp drilled & slotted friction surfaces and Spec-37 Iron construction. Nominal dimensions are 1.10 in; 27.94 mm through the braking section and 12.88 in; 327.15 mm at the outside edge.
• Aluminum hats with Black E-Coat finish complete the two-piece rotor assembly.
• The nominal hat stud-hole clearance diameter is 0.590 in; 14.99 mm; the matching wheel mounting pattern(s) are 5 x 4.41 in; 5 x 112.01 mm. These describe different aspects of the attachment.
• Use the specified original or compatible existing hubs. The kit contains no wheel hubs.
• The supplied hardware mounts the specified brake package. It does not include replacement spindles, a brake booster or a master cylinder.
• Supplied line kit 220-14598 provides the braided brake hoses; the stated length is 20.00 in. Verify both ends and clearance through full travel.
• The caliper package calls for at least the published 17 in; 431.8 mm wheel diameter, plus sufficient spoke and inner-barrel clearance.
• This is a kit listing; one package contains the brake components described above.

Fitment & Compatibility

Use the exact Audi year/body/VIN rows: 2002 A4/S4 require VIN E in the eighth position; 2009 A4/S4 coverage is Cabriolet. The listed 2008 S5 row is corroborated by Wilwood's AU 01 application page. The hose chassis bracket must be opened to 0.625-inch diameter as DS-1220 describes. Models covered: A4, S4, RS4 and S5.
