Wilwood 1964–1970 Chevy/GMC 2WD Drum-Spindle Front Disc Kit, Black Superlite Calipers and 11.86-Inch Rotor/Hubs

This Wilwood Superlite 6R kit is a front drum-to-disc conversion for 1964–1970 Chevy and GMC 2WD Trucks. One-piece iron 11.86 x 1.25-inch rotor/hub castings replace the drum assemblies and work with radial six-piston Superlite calipers. Bill Wood founded Wilwood Engineering in 1977. Based in Camarillo, California, the company designs and manufactures complete disc brake systems and individual calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines for motorsport, street-performance and specialized installations.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14474.
• The friction discs measure 11.86 in; 301.24 mm across and 1.25 in; 31.75 mm thick; plain face surfaces are used on vented Iron rotors.
• Each caliper carries 6 pistons made from stainless. The Superlite 6R design uses forged aluminum, radial mounting and a Black Powder Coat finish.
• BP-10 pads are supplied; the listed bore dimensions are 1.75, 1.25, 1.25 inches.
• Connect the brake line to the specified 1/8-27 NPT inlet.
• Wheel mounting pattern(s) measure 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm; 5 x 5 in; 5 x 127 mm. The associated listed stud diameter is 0.50 in; 12.70 mm.
• An integral iron rotor/hub replaces the drum assembly. The package does not contain an additional separate aluminum hub.
• Start wheel selection at 15 in; 381 mm; the barrel and spokes still need checking against the caliper-clearance template.
• This package includes its mounting fasteners. It excludes the spindles, master cylinder and booster.
• Order suitable flexlines separately; none are included. Match the chassis fittings and allow full steering/suspension travel. Separate reference: 220-12168 and 220-8307.
• Sold as a complete kit for the specified front installation.

Fitment & Compatibility

Use the listed Chevrolet and GMC two-wheel-drive drum-spindle applications. Match the exact factory spindle, bearing dimensions and wheel pattern before assembly. Separate spindle brackets secure the radial calipers; the original spindle remains in service. Models covered: C10 Panel, C10 Pickup, Suburban, 1000 Series, 1000, C10 Suburban, C15/C1500 Suburban, C1500 Pickup, Blazer and Jimmy. If a separate rear parking-brake conversion is also planned, a universal parking cable may need cable or vehicle changes; it is not part of this front kit.
