Wilwood Front Dynapro Drag Brake Kit for Listed Camaro & Firebird Single-Piston-Caliper Spindles, Drilled Rotors

Replace the specified Camaro or Firebird front brake assembly with a five-lug Dynapro drag system. Drilled solid steel rotors attach through dynamic adapters, while the four-piston calipers use BP-20 pads and stainless pistons. The kit includes hubs, wheel bearings, seals and extended studs. Founded in 1977 by Bill Wood, Camarillo, California-based Wilwood Engineering manufactures disc brake systems and components. Its motorsport, street-performance and specialized range spans calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines, with compatibility assessed across the complete braking system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14421-D.
• Match the Dynapro caliper architecture when selecting related components: lug attachment, 4 stainless pistons, forged aluminum body and Type III Anodize finish.
• Pad selection is BP-20; piston-bore measurements are 1.75, 1.75 inches. Confirm those values for any system changes.
• For rotor replacement, match all four specifications: 10.75 in; 273.05 mm outside diameter, 0.35 in; 8.89 mm thickness, Steel and the drilled surface. Rotor construction: solid.
• Wheel mounting is through the included aluminum hubs; check their exact lug circles and stud threads before selecting wheels.
• Attachment dimensions to confirm are 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm for the wheel mounting pattern(s) and 1/2-20 for the wheel-stud thread.
• Use a compatible hose adapter for the caliper's 1/8-27 NPT inlet.
• Included installation parts cover the kit mounting hardware, with spindles, brake booster and master cylinder excluded.
• Before ordering wheels, check the full inside profile against the drawing and the published 15 in; 381 mm minimum diameter.
• Plan the hydraulic connection separately: this kit has no hoses. Check line length and end fittings against the vehicle. Separate reference: 220-8307 and 220-6856.
• One brake kit is supplied for the specified application and axle position.

Fitment & Compatibility

This version requires the original single-piston-caliper spindle identified for the listed Camaro and Firebird applications. The new caliper is four-piston; the single-piston wording describes the required original spindle. Modify that spindle only as the installation instructions direct. Match the model year and existing rear-disc or rear-drum configuration below and observe the corresponding vehicle-weight limit. Hoses are not included; select a compatible line kit for the chassis. Check final wheel position and the brake-clearance template before buying five-lug wheels for the conversion. Models covered: Camaro and Firebird. Requires modifications to original spindle

Kit may fit some 14" wheels. Check wheel clearance diagram in kit installation instructions before purchase.

If a separate rear parking-brake conversion is also planned, a universal parking cable may need cable or vehicle changes; it is not part of this front kit.

Vehicle weight must not exceed 2, 800 lb with rear disc brakes or 2, 400 lb with rear drum brakes. Wheel contact surfaces must sit fully on the hub: use separately ordered spacer 300-11961 when they overhang the hub face. For stamped-steel wheels that stay within the hub face, Wilwood specifies shield 300-10716. Verify all wheel contact and clearance requirements in the instructions.
