Wilwood Front Dynapro Drag Brake Kit with Drilled Rotors for Listed Five-Lug Mustang & Thunderbird Spindles

Specify this five-lug front drag kit for the listed Ford disc-brake spindles. It supplies four-piston Dynapro Lug Mount calipers, dynamic rotor adapters and drilled 10.75 × 0.35-inch steel rotors, together with hubs, bearings, seals and extended wheel studs. The kit belongs to Wilwood Engineering's range of disc brake systems and components for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Bill Wood founded the company in 1977; it is based in Camarillo, California, and produces calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines for complete brake-system planning.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14420-D.
• Caliper bodies are forged aluminum, with Type III Anodize treatment. This is the lug-mounted Dynapro version, using 4 stainless pistons per caliper.
• This configuration uses BP-20 brake pads with caliper bores listed as 1.75, 1.75 inches.
• Across the rotor face the measurement is 10.75 in; 273.05 mm; the braking section is 0.35 in; 8.89 mm thick. Both discs use the specified solid Steel design and drilled finish.
• The package supplies separate aluminum hubs, rather than relying on the original hubs. Use the listed wheel patterns and thread specifications.
• For this kit the published wheel mounting pattern(s) are 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm. Check the specified 1/2-20 wheel-stud thread.
• Fluid enters through a 1/8-27 NPT caliper port; match the adapter accordingly.
• Mounting hardware accompanies the brake components; the vehicle's spindle, master cylinder and booster are separate items.
• The stated wheel requirement is 15 in; 381 mm. Nominal diameter alone does not establish clearance around the caliper and rotor.
• A suitable separately purchased line set is required, with compatible fittings and routing. Brake hoses are not supplied. Separate reference: 220-6471.
• The components are sold together as one kit for the stated installation.

Fitment & Compatibility

The qualifying Ford entries distinguish Mustang V8 spindles, SVO five-lug configurations and the specified five-lug Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. Do not treat the kit as universal Mustang fitment or assume a four-lug wheel can remain in use. Original spindle modification is required. Review the exact application years and rear-brake configuration below, then check the drag-use weight limit. Flexlines are supplied separately. Confirm the installed wheel position from the appropriate drawing and measure wheel clearance before purchase; a nominal wheel diameter does not establish clearance to the spokes. Requires modifications to original spindle

Kit may fit some 14" wheels. Check wheel clearance diagram in kit installation instructions before purchase.

If a separate rear parking-brake conversion is also planned, a universal parking cable may need cable or vehicle changes; it is not part of this front kit.

Vehicle weight must not exceed 2, 800 lb with rear disc brakes or 2, 400 lb with rear drum brakes. Wheel contact surfaces must sit fully on the hub: use separately ordered spacer 300-11961 when they overhang the hub face. For stamped-steel wheels that stay within the hub face, Wilwood specifies shield 300-10716. Verify all wheel contact and clearance requirements in the instructions.
