Wilwood Front Drag Brake Kit with Dynapro Calipers & Drilled Rotors for GM G-Body and Listed Two-Wheel-Drive Applications

Hard-anodized Dynapro calipers and thin drilled steel rotors form this front drag-racing conversion. Five-lug hubs, bearings, seals, extended studs and brackets support the dynamic rotor mounting arrangement. The four-piston calipers use stainless pistons and BP-20 pads. Wilwood Engineering, founded by Bill Wood in 1977, is based in Camarillo, California. The manufacturer supplies disc brake systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications, including calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines that must work together as a complete system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14419-D.
• At each caliper, the Dynapro configuration provides 4 pistons in stainless, housed in forged aluminum. The caliper attaches by lug mounting and is finished in Type III Anodize.
• For hydraulic matching, use the published 1.75, 1.75-inch piston bores. Pads are the BP-20 compound.
• This version supplies drilled rotors in Steel. Their 10.75 in; 273.05 mm diameter and 0.35 in; 8.89 mm section are matched to the listed solid brake package.
• This hub kit includes aluminum wheel hubs. Their wheel-bolt layout and stud threads must match the chosen wheels.
• The mounting interface uses 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm; verify the wheel-stud thread of 1/2-20 separately from the bolt circle.
• Inlet-port specification for hose/fitting selection is 1/8-27 NPT.
• The listed brackets and fasteners belong to the kit. Spindles and the master-cylinder/booster assembly are outside the package.
• Wheel clearance must be measured using the installation template; the manufacturer lists 15 in; 381 mm as the nominal minimum.
• No hydraulic flexlines accompany the kit; supply the correct hoses and fittings for the documented caliper/chassis interface. Separate reference: 220-7056.
• Order quantity refers to one brake conversion kit, not an individual loose rotor or caliper.

Fitment & Compatibility

The applications identify rear-wheel-drive GM G-body cars and specified two-wheel-drive compact trucks and related chassis, including the listed Isuzu Hombre. Keep the model, year and drive-layout restrictions intact; this is not a four-wheel-drive conversion. The original front spindle must be modified according to the installation instructions. Choose brake hoses separately and check their fittings, full-lock routing and suspension travel. Vehicle weight must remain within the drag-kit limit for the installed rear discs or drums. The caliper template and hub position also need checking against the chosen five-lug wheels before ordering. Requires modifications to original spindle

Kit may fit some 14" wheels. Check wheel clearance diagram in kit installation instructions before purchase.

Separate universal hose choices are 220-7056 (14-inch), 220-7699 (16-inch) or 220-8307 (18-inch). Select the correct length and end fittings; these are alternatives, not three required kits.

If a separate rear parking-brake conversion is also planned, a universal parking cable may need cable or vehicle changes; it is not part of this front kit.

Vehicle weight must not exceed 2, 800 lb with rear disc brakes or 2, 400 lb with rear drum brakes. Wheel contact surfaces must sit fully on the hub: use separately ordered spacer 300-11961 when they overhang the hub face. For stamped-steel wheels that stay within the hub face, Wilwood specifies shield 300-10716. Verify all wheel contact and clearance requirements in the instructions.
