Wilwood Front Dynapro Four-Piston Drag Brake Kit, Drilled Steel Rotors for Listed GM & RideTech Pin Spindles

Build a front drag brake around the specified spindle rather than the vehicle badge alone. This version uses four-piston Dynapro calipers, BP-20 pads and drilled 10.75 × 0.35-inch solid steel rotors on dynamic adapters. The supplied five-lug hubs include bearings, seals and extended studs. Bill Wood founded Wilwood Engineering in 1977. Based in Camarillo, California, the company designs and manufactures complete disc brake systems and individual calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines for motorsport, street-performance and specialized installations.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14417-D.
• Match 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm at the wheel mounting pattern(s) interface, with 1/2-20 as the wheel-stud thread.
• The wheel hubs are individual aluminum components supplied in this package. Match their lug pattern and thread to the wheels.
• Steel forms the solid rotors. Each disc has a drilled face, an outside diameter of 10.75 in; 273.05 mm and thickness of 0.35 in; 8.89 mm.
• Type III Anodize Dynapro calipers are supplied. Their forged aluminum bodies use the lug mounting arrangement with 4 stainless pistons in each caliper.
• Piston sizes listed by Wilwood are 1.75, 1.75 inches, with BP-20 friction material in this kit.
• Hydraulic fitting interface on each caliper: 1/8-27 NPT.
• Published wheel minimum is 15 in; 381 mm, subject to the required inside-profile check. Rotor diameter is a separate measurement.
• The package excludes hydraulic hoses. Choose compatible connections and line length for the specific installation. Separate reference: 220-7056.
• Application-specific mounting hardware is supplied. Provide or retain the correct spindle, master cylinder and brake booster separately.
• Package quantity is one application-specific brake kit.

Fitment & Compatibility

Applications include the specified GM drum or disc spindles and separately identified RideTech pin-spindle conversions. A classic Ford or Mercury entry requiring RideTech hardware does not establish fitment to that vehicle’s original spindle. Likewise, the Corvette and other converted-chassis entries must retain their stated pin-spindle condition. Match the exact year, spindle and brake configuration in the applications below. The lightweight rotor package is for drag racing within the documented rear-disc or rear-drum weight limits. Hydraulic flexlines are separate purchases; choose the length and end fittings for the installation. Verify five-lug wheel mounting, wheel position and caliper clearance with the installation drawing. Kit may fit some 14" wheels. Check wheel clearance diagram in kit installation instructions before purchase.

Separate universal hose choices are 220-7056 (14-inch), 220-7699 (16-inch) or 220-8307 (18-inch). Select the correct length and end fittings; these are alternatives, not three required kits.

If a separate rear parking-brake conversion is also planned, a universal parking cable may need cable or vehicle changes; it is not part of this front kit.

Vehicle weight must not exceed 2, 800 lb with rear disc brakes or 2, 400 lb with rear drum brakes. Wheel contact surfaces must sit fully on the hub: use separately ordered spacer 300-11961 when they overhang the hub face. For stamped-steel wheels that stay within the hub face, Wilwood specifies shield 300-10716. Verify all wheel contact and clearance requirements in the instructions.
