Wilwood Front Dynapro Lug Mount Drag Brake Kit, Drilled Rotors for Pinto, Mustang II & Bobcat Five-Lug Applications (1971–1980)

This front drag-racing package combines hard-anodized four-piston Dynapro Lug Mount calipers with 10.75-inch drilled steel rotors and five-lug hubs. Dynamic rotor adapters allow the thin solid discs to respond to heat without being rigidly clamped to the hub. Bearings, seals, extended wheel studs and mounting hardware are included. Wilwood Engineering began in 1977 with founder Bill Wood and is based in Camarillo, California. It designs disc brake systems and components for racing, performance-road and specialized use, from calipers and rotors to master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines; the complete system determines component selection.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14416-D.
• Wheel mounting pattern(s) measure 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm. The associated wheel-stud thread is 1/2-20.
• Supplied aluminum hubs provide the wheel mounting; verify the patterns and stud threads stated above.
• The friction discs measure 10.75 in; 273.05 mm across and 0.35 in; 8.89 mm thick; drilled surfaces are used on solid Steel rotors.
• Each caliper carries 4 pistons made from stainless. The Dynapro design uses forged aluminum, lug mounting and a Type III Anodize finish.
• BP-20 pads are supplied; the listed bore dimensions are 1.75, 1.75 inches.
• Connect the brake line to the specified 1/8-27 NPT inlet.
• Start wheel selection at 15 in; 381 mm; the barrel and spokes still need checking against the caliper-clearance template.
• Order suitable flexlines separately; none are included. Match the chassis fittings and allow full steering/suspension travel. Separate reference: 220-8307.
• This package includes its mounting fasteners. It excludes the spindles, master cylinder and booster.
• Sold as a complete kit for the specified front installation.

Fitment & Compatibility

Use the precise Ford Pinto, Mustang II or Mercury Bobcat application and spindle entry shown below. The listed model years run from 1971 through 1980, with different drum and disc spindle entries; this is not approval for every version throughout that span. The hubs provide five-lug wheel mounting, so an existing four-lug wheel cannot be retained. This is a lightweight drag system subject to the stated vehicle-weight limits and rear-brake configuration. Select separately purchased flexlines for the chassis connection and required length. Check the wheel template and resulting wheel position before purchase; the nominal 15-inch requirement does not guarantee spoke clearance. Models covered: Pinto, Mustang II and Bobcat. Use the complete application table at the bottom for the precise year, submodel, brake option and note attached to each row.

Kit includes 5 lug hubs. Not applicable to 4 lug vehicles.

Kit may fit some 14" wheels. Check wheel clearance diagram in kit installation instructions before purchase.

Separate universal hose choices are 220-7056 (14-inch), 220-7699 (16-inch) or 220-8307 (18-inch). Select the correct length and end fittings; these are alternatives, not three required kits.

Master Cylinder may require modification to existing pushrod assembly to install.

If a separate rear parking-brake conversion is also planned, a universal parking cable may need cable or vehicle changes; it is not part of this front kit.

Vehicle weight must not exceed 2, 800 lb with rear disc brakes or 2, 400 lb with rear drum brakes. Wheel contact surfaces must sit fully on the hub: use separately ordered spacer 300-11961 when they overhang the hub face. For stamped-steel wheels that stay within the hub face, Wilwood specifies shield 300-10716. Verify all wheel contact and clearance requirements in the instructions.
