This Wilwood MC4 kit is a mechanical parking-brake retrofit for Existing Pro Series Rear Brakes. The MC4 calipers add cable-operated parking action to a compatible existing 12.19-inch Dynalite Pro Series rear disc installation. Founded by Bill Wood in 1977 and based in Camarillo, California, Wilwood Engineering develops disc brake systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. Its calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines must be selected as parts of a complete, matched braking system.

Technical Details

  • Manufacturer part number: 140-14415-R.
  • No wheel hubs are supplied; use the documented existing hub arrangement.
  • Caliper specification: MC4; one aluminum piston per caliper, cast aluminum body and floating mounting. Finish: Red Powder Coat.
  • Published piston bores: 1.19 inches. Supplied pad compound: CM - Composite Metallic.
  • Mechanical lever actuation; there is no hydraulic connection on the MC4 parking caliper.
  • Minimum nominal wheel diameter: 15 in; 381 mm. The actual inner profile must pass the kit clearance drawing.
  • MC4 parking actuation is mechanical. No hydraulic hoses are provided or required for its lever mechanism.
  • Mounting hardware is included; spindles, master cylinder and brake booster are not supplied.
  • Sold as one retrofit package containing two MC4 parking calipers and their bracket/mounting hardware.

Fitment & Compatibility

Compatible existing kits are 140-2111 through 140-2118, 140-3018, 140-3722, 140-5236, 140-5591 and 140-5746. Confirm both the installed kit and rotor-to-frame space against DS-1201. This retrofit will not fit 1968–1974 Chevelle, Buick Skylark, Oldsmobile Cutlass or Pontiac Tempest because of frame clearance.

Two mechanical calipers, adapter brackets and mounting hardware are supplied. Existing hydraulic service calipers, rotors and hubs are retained and are not supplied by this retrofit. Cable 330-9371, cables, cable hardware and adapters are sold separately. MC4 actuation has no hydraulic inlet and does not require a brake hose.
