This Wilwood MC4 kit is a mechanical parking-brake retrofit for Existing Pro Series Rear Brakes. The MC4 calipers add cable-operated parking action to a compatible existing 12.19-inch Dynalite Pro Series rear disc installation. Wilwood Engineering designs complete disc brake systems as well as calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines. Established by Bill Wood in 1977 and based in Camarillo, California, it serves motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications; individual parts require a matched system.

Technical Details

  • Manufacturer part number: 140-14415.
  • The specified floating caliper is an MC4. It combines a Black Powder Coat cast aluminum body with one piston per unit; the published piston material is aluminum.
  • Mechanical lever actuation; there is no hydraulic connection on the MC4 parking caliper.
  • Bores and friction material: 1.19 inches, with CM - Composite Metallic pads supplied for the specified calipers.
  • Use the specified original or compatible existing hubs. The kit contains no wheel hubs.
  • The supplied hardware mounts the specified brake package. It does not include replacement spindles, a brake booster or a master cylinder.
  • MC4 parking actuation is mechanical. No hydraulic hoses are provided or required for its lever mechanism.
  • The caliper package calls for at least the published 15 in; 381 mm wheel diameter, plus sufficient spoke and inner-barrel clearance.
  • Sold as one retrofit package containing two MC4 parking calipers and their bracket/mounting hardware.

Fitment & Compatibility

Compatible existing kits are 140-2111 through 140-2118, 140-3018, 140-3722, 140-5236, 140-5591 and 140-5746. Confirm both the installed kit and rotor-to-frame space against DS-1201. This retrofit will not fit 1968–1974 Chevelle, Buick Skylark, Oldsmobile Cutlass or Pontiac Tempest because of frame clearance.

Two mechanical calipers, adapter brackets and mounting hardware are supplied. Existing hydraulic service calipers, rotors and hubs are retained and are not supplied by this retrofit. Cable 330-9371, cables, cable hardware and adapters are sold separately. MC4 actuation has no hydraulic inlet and does not require a brake hose.
