Wilwood Chevy 12-Bolt C-Clip Rear Brakes with Red Dynapro Calipers, Plain Rotors and Parking Shoes

This Wilwood Dynapro Low-Profile kit is a rear disc and internal parking-brake conversion for Chevy 12-Bolt C-Clip Axles with Staggered Shocks. The 11-inch integral rotor/hat and compact four-piston calipers serve 2.75- or 2.81-inch axle-flange offsets. Founded in 1977 by Bill Wood, Camarillo, California-based Wilwood Engineering manufactures disc brake systems and components. Its motorsport, street-performance and specialized range spans calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines, with compatibility assessed across the complete braking system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14400-R.
• Match the Dynapro Low-Profile caliper architecture when selecting related components: lug attachment, 4 stainless pistons, forged aluminum body and Red Powder Coat finish.
• Use a compatible hose adapter for the caliper's 1/8-27 NPT inlet.
• Pad selection is BP-10; piston-bore measurements are 1.38, 1.38 inches. Confirm those values for any system changes.
• For rotor replacement, match all four specifications: 11.00 in; 279.4 mm outside diameter, 0.81 in; 20.57 mm thickness, Iron and the plain face surface. Rotor construction: vented.
• Attachment dimensions to confirm are 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm; 5 x 5 in; 5 x 127 mm for the wheel mounting pattern(s) and 0.52 in; 13.21 mm for the listed stud diameter.
• The kit does not supply replacement hubs; confirm the dimensions of those already installed.
• Rear interface: Chevy 12-bolt C-clip, with a 2.75/2.81-inch axle-flange offset measured between the wheel-side axle flange and wheel-side housing flange. Confirm the housing-bolt pattern and bearing fit.
• Included installation parts cover the kit mounting hardware, with spindles, brake booster and master cylinder excluded.
• Plan the hydraulic connection separately: this kit has no hoses. Check line length and end fittings against the vehicle.
• Before ordering wheels, check the full inside profile against the drawing and the published 14 in; 355.6 mm minimum diameter.
• One brake kit is supplied for the specified application and axle position.

Fitment & Compatibility

Match the 12-bolt C-clip housing flange, 2.75/2.81-inch axle-flange offset and staggered-shock arrangement. The right caliper mounts behind the axle; the left mounts ahead. The vehicle rows reference RideTech front spindles and do not identify the installed rear axle. Measure the actual rear flange and bearing before selecting this kit. Models covered: Chevelle, 442, Beaumont, Camaro and Apollo. Use the complete application table at the bottom for the precise year, submodel, brake option and note attached to each row.

Kit designed for staggered shock mount rear ends: R/H caliper is rear mount, L/H caliper is front mount.

Kit may fit some 14" wheels. Check wheel clearance diagram in kit installation instructions before purchase.

Separate universal hose choices are 220-7056 (14-inch), 220-7699 (16-inch) or 220-8307 (18-inch). Select the correct length and end fittings; these are alternatives, not three required kits.

The maximum axle-flange diameter is 6.61 inches with the specified 0.050-inch x 45-degree chamfer; verify the 2.80-inch register and supplied centering rings. Some 14-inch wheels may clear, but only after checking the kit drawing. Shock relocation or modification may be necessary. Parking-brake cables, clevises, adapters and cable hardware are separate; universal cable kit 330-9371 may need vehicle-specific changes.
