Wilwood Black Dynapro Rear Disc/Parking Brake Kit for Staggered-Shock Chevy 12-Bolt Axles, Plain 11-Inch Rotors

This Wilwood Dynapro Low-Profile kit is a rear disc and internal parking-brake conversion for Chevy 12-Bolt C-Clip Axles with Staggered Shocks. The 11-inch integral rotor/hat and compact four-piston calipers serve 2.75- or 2.81-inch axle-flange offsets. From its Camarillo, California base, Wilwood Engineering designs disc brake systems for motorsport, street-performance and specialized needs. Founded in 1977 by Bill Wood, its range covers calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines chosen to work within a complete brake system.

Technical Details

• Manufacturer part number: 140-14400.
• Friction surface and size: plain face; 11.00 in; 279.4 mm diameter x 0.81 in; 20.57 mm thickness. The rotor material is Iron in a vented design.
• The calipers are Dynapro Low-Profile units with a Black Powder Coat exterior. A forged aluminum body locates 4 stainless pistons; attachment is lug mount.
• The matched pads use BP-10. Manufacturer bore figures for the caliper are 1.38, 1.38 inches.
• The caliper accepts the listed 1/8-27 NPT hydraulic connection.
• 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm; 5 x 5 in; 5 x 127 mm is the listed wheel mounting pattern(s) dimension. Listed stud diameter: 0.52 in; 13.21 mm.
• Existing verified wheel hubs remain in service; replacement hubs are not supplied.
• Rear interface: Chevy 12-bolt C-clip, with a 2.75/2.81-inch axle-flange offset measured between the wheel-side axle flange and wheel-side housing flange. Confirm the housing-bolt pattern and bearing fit.
• Wheel minimum: 14 in; 355.6 mm. Confirm the complete wheel shape and mounting hardware clear the brake drawing.
• No spindle, booster or master cylinder is included; the kit does contain mounting hardware for the stated installation.
• Brake lines are a separate purchase. Verify end fittings, safe routing and the length needed for this application.
• This listing supplies one kit for the documented brake configuration.

Fitment & Compatibility

Match the 12-bolt C-clip housing flange, 2.75/2.81-inch axle-flange offset and staggered-shock arrangement. The right caliper mounts behind the axle; the left mounts ahead. The vehicle rows reference RideTech front spindles and do not identify the installed rear axle. Measure the actual rear flange and bearing before selecting this kit. Models covered: Chevelle, 442, Beaumont, Camaro and Apollo. Use the complete application table at the bottom for the precise year, submodel, brake option and note attached to each row.

Kit designed for staggered shock mount rear ends: R/H caliper is rear mount, L/H caliper is front mount.

Kit may fit some 14" wheels. Check wheel clearance diagram in kit installation instructions before purchase.

Separate universal hose choices are 220-7056 (14-inch), 220-7699 (16-inch) or 220-8307 (18-inch). Select the correct length and end fittings; these are alternatives, not three required kits.

The maximum axle-flange diameter is 6.61 inches with the specified 0.050-inch x 45-degree chamfer; verify the 2.80-inch register and supplied centering rings. Some 14-inch wheels may clear, but only after checking the kit drawing. Shock relocation or modification may be necessary. Parking-brake cables, clevises, adapters and cable hardware are separate; universal cable kit 330-9371 may need vehicle-specific changes.
