Wilwood Front Superlite 6R Hub Brake Kit, Black Calipers and 12.88-Inch GT Rotors, for Selected Ford/Edsel/Mercury Full-Size Drum Spindles (1957–1968)

This front kit uses separate 12.88-inch GT rotor rings, aluminum hats and aluminum hubs with black six-piston Superlite 6R calipers. It is a conversion for the specified full-size Ford, Edsel and Mercury factory drum spindles; its small listed hub offset still needs to be included in wheel-position checks. Camarillo, California is the home of Wilwood Engineering, the disc brake systems and components manufacturer founded by Bill Wood in 1977. It designs and manufactures calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications. The requirements of the complete brake system determine which individual components are appropriate.

• Wheel interface: 5 x 4.5 in; 5 x 114.3 mm; 5 x 4.75 in; 5 x 120.65 mm. Wheel-stud specification: 1/2-20 in.
• Nominal minimum wheel diameter: 17 in; 431.8 mm. Verify the full wheel-clearance drawing; diameter alone does not establish barrel or spoke clearance.

• Calipers: 6 stainless pistons per caliper; radial mounting; forged aluminium bodies. Color: Black. Finish: Black Powder Coat. Inlet thread: 1/8-27 NPT.
• Caliper family: Forged Narrow Superlite 6R. Brake-pad compound: BP-10.

• Rotor: 12.88 in; 327.15 mm outside diameter; 1.10 in; 27.94 mm thickness. Material: Spec-37 Iron. Construction: Vented. Friction-face style: GT Slotted.
• Rotor-hat material: Aluminum. Hat offset: 1.750 inches; this hat dimension is separate from axle offset.

Fitment & Compatibility

Use the complete model/year table below with the actual drum spindle and bearing dimensions. Documented earlier Ford and Edsel applications require the specified original spindle; an arbitrary replacement spindle is not covered. Flexlines are separate and must suit the chassis connections.

Separate front flexline references are 220-8307, 220-7699 and 220-12168; select the length and vehicle-end connection appropriate to the chassis. Listed hub offset is +0.03 inch per side.
