Wilwood Front Plain-Face Rotor/Hub and Red Dynalite-M Caliper Kit for Selected Mercury Cougar/Montego/Cyclone/Comet and Ford Mustang/Maverick/Falcon/Fairlane/Torino/Ranchero (1970–1974)

Plain iron friction faces and red powder-coated calipers identify this version of the later-spindle front kit. The rotor and hub are a single casting, with the mounting brackets, pads, bearing hardware and flexlines supplied to complete the specified two-wheel conversion. Bill Wood established Wilwood Engineering in 1977; the company is based in Camarillo, California. Its disc brake design and manufacturing range covers calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines, as well as complete systems. Those products serve motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications, with the individual components selected to match the braking system as a whole.

Fitment & Compatibility

Retain only the factory spindle configuration documented for the exact model and year below. The kit may clear suitable 14-inch disc-brake wheels after a diagram check; it does not fit factory drum-brake wheels. A car fitted with replacement spindles needs its spindle identity checked separately.

A master-cylinder change can require modification of the existing pushrod assembly. The separate universal parking-cable note applies only if the rear brakes are also being converted; this front kit does not supply a rear parking-brake conversion.

Where a different chassis connection or length is needed, universal flexline references are 220-7056 (14 inches), 220-7699 (16 inches) and 220-8307 (18 inches). These are alternatives to assess, not additional sets included in the kit.
