Wilwood Front Dynalite Brake Conversion, Plain Rotor/Hubs and Anodized Calipers, for Selected Ford Mustang/Falcon/Maverick/Fairlane/Ranchero/Torino and Mercury Cougar/Cyclone/Montego/Comet (1970–1974)

Designed around the later spindle group, this front kit uses the 11.30-inch nominal integral-hub rotor with anodized four-piston Dynalite-M calipers. Its bearing and mounting configuration must be matched to the original spindle, not substituted for the earlier kit on the basis of rotor diameter. Wilwood Engineering is based in Camarillo, California. Bill Wood founded its disc brake system and component business in 1977. The manufacturer designs and produces calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines for motorsport, street-performance and specialized uses. Each item must suit the rest of the brake system.

Fitment & Compatibility

The 1970 Falcon/Maverick drum application begins August 25, 1969. The 1970 Mustang disc row excludes GT350/GT500; later Mustang, Cougar, Comet and Maverick entries have their own year and spindle limits in the table. Check each condition before choosing the conversion.

A master-cylinder change can require modification of the existing pushrod assembly. The separate universal parking-cable note applies only if the rear brakes are also being converted; this front kit does not supply a rear parking-brake conversion.

Where a different chassis connection or length is needed, universal flexline references are 220-7056 (14 inches), 220-7699 (16 inches) and 220-8307 (18 inches). These are alternatives to assess, not additional sets included in the kit.
