Wilwood Plain-Rotor Front Disc Brake Package with Red Calipers for Selected Mercury Montego/Comet/Cougar/Cyclone/Caliente and Ford Falcon/Mustang/Fairlane/Ranchero/Torino/Maverick (1963–1970)

The plain-face rotor option combines red Dynalite-M calipers with integral-hub iron rotors for the specified front spindles. Separate replacement hubs are unnecessary because each hub is part of its rotor casting; the package also provides pads, brackets, bearing components and hoses. The manufacturer, Wilwood Engineering, was founded in 1977 by Bill Wood and is based in Camarillo, California. Its design and manufacturing work covers disc brake systems and components, including calipers, rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines. Motorsport, street-performance and specialized installations each require the individual parts to suit the complete brake system.

Fitment & Compatibility

Most suitable 14-inch factory disc-brake wheels may clear this compact caliper, but factory drum-brake wheels do not. Use the wheel diagram and verify the exact spindle application below; installation on the 1968–1969 three-hole disc spindle includes the machining specified by Wilwood.

A master-cylinder change can require modification of the existing pushrod assembly. The separate universal parking-cable note applies only if the rear brakes are also being converted; this front kit does not supply a rear parking-brake conversion.

The supplied front hose set is 220-12168. Application references also identify 220-6471 for 1965–1967 and 220-9195 for 1968-up; confirm the installed chassis connection before substituting either reference.

Where a different chassis connection or length is needed, universal flexline references are 220-7056 (14 inches), 220-7699 (16 inches) and 220-8307 (18 inches). These are alternatives to assess, not additional sets included in the kit.
