Red Superlite 4R calipers surround 14-inch drilled-and-slotted rotor rings in this Big Ford Bronco rear package. Each radial caliper contains four stainless pistons with 1.12-inch bores; the separate parking shoes act inside iron hats rather than through the service caliper. Established in 1977 by Bill Wood, Camarillo, California-based Wilwood Engineering designs and manufactures disc brake systems. Its master cylinders, calipers, brake rotors, lines, fittings and valves support motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications, with each component selected for its role in the complete brake system.

Fitment & Compatibility

Measure the installed axle before ordering: this bracket arrangement requires a Big Ford housing end and 2.36 inches between the wheel sides of the housing and axle flanges. Match the 5 x 5.50-inch wheel attachment and hat register, then use DS1028 to check the wheel profile. An 18-inch minimum wheel diameter alone does not establish clearance.

Measure the axle flange and register before mounting the brake: the flange must be no larger than 6.61 inches, with a 0.050-inch chamfer at 45 degrees. Use the instructions for the 2.88-inch register and its centering adapters as applicable, alongside the required offset and housing pattern.

The installation reference identifies Big Ford Bronco rear applications with 3300-lb axle/11-inch drums for 1966–1975 and the listed 1976–1977 configurations. Verify the actual flange,2.36-inch offset and axle register.
