Wilwood Rear Plain-Rotor Parking Brake Conversion, Red Dust-Boot Calipers and Big Ford 2.36-Inch Offset

Plain iron rotors, red four-piston Dynapro dust-boot calipers and internal parking-brake shoes form this rear conversion. The package is identified by its Big Ford mounting flange and measured axle offset. Disc brake system design and manufacturing are Wilwood Engineering’s focus. Bill Wood founded the Camarillo, California company in 1977; its range spans brake rotors, master cylinders, calipers, fittings, valves and brake lines for motorsport, specialized and street-performance applications. The choice of individual components depends on the complete brake system.

Fitment & Compatibility

Use the 1990 Town Car row only with the specified 2.36-inch axle-end geometry. Check register centering, available shock clearance and the separately required parking-brake cable and hydraulic hose arrangement. The application table includes a 1990 Lincoln Town Car row, but Wilwood identifies this kit by axle flange and offset. Stock Town Car axle compatibility is not established; confirm the actual or custom axle measurements before purchase.

In addition to the bracket pattern and measured offset, inspect the axle flange profile. Its outside diameter may not exceed 6.61 inches and it requires the documented 0.050-inch x 45-degree chamfer. The instructions show a 2.80-inch axle register with the applicable centering provision.

Inspect shock-to-brake clearance as well as the axle dimensions; the installation instructions note that some shock arrangements may need modification or relocation.

Hydraulic hoses/fittings and parking-brake cables, adapters and cable hardware are not included. Choose a compatible cable arrangement for the internal parking brake; universal cable systems may require vehicle or cable modifications.

Kit may fit some 15" wheels. Check wheel clearance diagram in kit installation instructions before purchase.
