Wilwood Red Six-Piston Front Hub Kit, Falcon/Ranchero/Comet/Fairlane/Cyclone/Mustang/Caliente/Cougar/Torino/Montego/Maverick (1963–1970), Drilled Rotors

The red Dynapro calipers in this early Ford/Mercury front package use six stainless pistons with 1.62- and 1.38-inch bore dimensions. They work with drilled/slotted 12.19-inch rings, BP-10 pads and replacement hubs rather than a retained integral rotor/hub. The selected 0.81-inch-wide friction rings and spindle-specific brackets must match the individual vehicle conditions in the application list. Wilwood Engineering was founded by Bill Wood in 1977 and is based in Camarillo, California. • Disc-spindle preparation may require drilling and re-tapping the bracket-mounting holes. Follow the exact three-hole versus four-hole bracket arrangement and machining procedure for the specified spindle in the installation document.
• Conditional wheel support: if the wheel contact face overhangs the new hub, the separately sold 6.60-inch-diameter × 0.20-inch-thick steel support spacer specified in the linked installation instructions is required. Check full seating before assembly. For stamped steel wheels without overhang, Wilwood recommends a separate 6.15-inch-diameter × 0.09-inch-thick hub shield.

Fitment & Compatibility

Determine whether the original spindle uses the four-hole arrangement or the specified three-hole disc configuration before ordering. DS964 explains the associated drilling and re-tapping work. The early V8-spindle requirements and the relevant 1969 production boundary remain important, as do the separately listed Shelby brake applications. Inspect bearing seating and include the 0.09-inch outward wheel change when checking tire position. The hydraulic lines are a separate choice. Verify the actual rim with the clearance diagram and assess the rear brakes before final setup.
