Product details
Wilwood's front Dynalite conversion uses black four-piston calipers and plain 11.75-inch vented rotors for the listed Cadillac drum spindles. Replacement hubs and bearing components provide the mounting for the selected brake package. Exact series and production year remain important across these 1941–1955 applications, particularly where prior repairs or suspension modifications have changed original spindle hardware. Wilwood Engineering was founded by Bill Wood in 1977 and is based in Camarillo, California. The company designs and manufactures disc brake systems and components, including calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings, and brake lines for motorsport, street-performance, and specialized applications.

- Hydraulic lines and fittings selected separately. No master cylinder, booster or spindles are supplied.
- Conditional wheel screening size: 15 inches. Use the installation clearance diagram to verify the actual barrel and spoke profile.
- Wheel-contact support requirement: if the wheel contact surface overhangs the hub face, use the specified 6.60-inch-diameter × 0.20-inch-thick steel spacer between hub and wheel. The spacer is supplied with this kit.
- The wheel-clearance drawing includes the supplied wheel spacer installed; account for its thickness and stud engagement in the completed wheel arrangement.
- For stamped steel wheels whose contact area does not overhang the hub, Wilwood recommends the separate 6.15-inch-diameter × 0.09-inch-thick hub shield to protect the hub face; this is distinct from the required overhang-support spacer.
Fitment & Compatibility
Early Cadillac applications include Series 60, Series 63, Series 67 and Series 75 entries for 1941–1942; postwar Series 61 and Series 62 models have separate production ranges. Confirm that distinction before comparing the actual drum spindle with DS941. The black-caliper kit supplies replacement hubs and bearing components, with a five-on-five-inch wheel pattern and 0.35-inch outward mounting change per side. Assess tire width, body clearance and the required support-spacer condition before checking the caliper template. The diagram includes the supplied spacer installed, so preserve its dimension when assessing the wheel. Hydraulic hoses are separate, and master-cylinder displacement, pedal travel and rear brake balance must be established for the completed conversion.
