Wilwood's red-caliper front conversion supplies 11.75-inch drilled/slotted rings and replacement hubs for the specified Oldsmobile drum spindles. The four-piston Dynalite calipers and mounting brackets form a matched brake assembly with BP-10 pads. Verify the individual Series or Eight model entry and the installed spindle rather than assuming every car within the overall 1940–1952 span shares the same mounting. • Wheel-contact support requirement: if the wheel contact surface overhangs the hub face, use the specified 6.60-inch-diameter × 0.20-inch-thick steel spacer between hub and wheel. The spacer is supplied with this kit.
• The wheel-clearance drawing includes the supplied wheel spacer installed; account for its thickness and stud engagement in the completed wheel arrangement.
• For stamped steel wheels whose contact area does not overhang the hub, Wilwood recommends the separate 6.15-inch-diameter × 0.09-inch-thick hub shield to protect the hub face; this is distinct from the required overhang-support spacer.

Fitment & Compatibility

Check bearing and bracket fit using DS936, then assess the five-on-five-inch hub pattern and outward 0.039-inch wheel shift. The actual wheel must clear the caliper bridge and rotor envelope. Hydraulic hoses are separate. Review the existing master-cylinder pushrod and pedal arrangement before installation, since adaptation may be required, and verify hydraulic volume and brake balance with the rear brake package.
