Wilwood Front Red Caliper & Plain 11-Inch Rotor Package for Chevrolet Impala/Biscayne/Bel Air/Nomad/Parkwood/Brookwood/Kingswood/Sedan Delivery/El Camino/Corvette (1959–1964)

This red-caliper Wilwood front conversion uses plain 11-inch vented rotors with replacement hubs for the listed Chevrolet spindle arrangements. Four-piston Dynalite calipers and supplied brackets replace the original brake hardware. Verify the early Corvette and full-size-car application conditions individually, since a modified spindle or previous disc conversion can change the required package. Wilwood Engineering was founded by Bill Wood in 1977 and is based in Camarillo, California. • Wheel-contact support requirement: if the wheel contact surface overhangs the hub face, use the specified 6.60-inch-diameter × 0.20-inch-thick steel spacer between hub and wheel. The spacer is supplied with this kit.
• For stamped steel wheels whose contact area does not overhang the hub, Wilwood recommends the separate 6.15-inch-diameter × 0.09-inch-thick hub shield to protect the hub face; this is distinct from the required overhang-support spacer.

Fitment & Compatibility

The application separates 1959–1960 El Camino and Sedan Delivery from the 1959–1961 Brookwood, Kingswood, Nomad and Parkwood entries; Corvette coverage is 1963–1964. Use the individual row before comparing the installed Chevrolet spindle with DS896. The plain 11-inch ring and red Dynalite caliper share the supplied replacement-hub arrangement, with a 0.27-inch outward wheel-position change per side. Confirm the chosen five-lug pattern, bearings and retained spindle hardware before assembling the conversion. The required wheel-support spacer condition is separate from the caliper-envelope check: verify both seating on the hub face and clearance around the caliper. Select hoses for steering and suspension movement, then assess the master cylinder and rear brakes for suitable hydraulic volume and balance.
