Wilwood Plain 12.19-Inch Front Brakes, Red, Chevrolet Bel Air/Nomad/One-Fifty Series/Sedan Delivery/Two-Ten Series/Del Ray (1955–1957), Drop-Spindle Conversion

This Wilwood front drop-spindle kit pairs red four-piston Dynalite calipers with plain-face 12.19-inch rotors and replacement hubs. It provides a disc conversion for the listed 1955–1957 Chevrolet chassis when fitted with the specific aftermarket spindle arrangement. The compact rotor diameter does not make it interchangeable with the kit for an original Chevrolet spindle. Wilwood Engineering was founded by Bill Wood in 1977 and is based in Camarillo, California. • For stamped steel wheels whose contact area does not overhang the hub, Wilwood recommends the separate 6.15-inch-diameter × 0.09-inch-thick hub shield to protect the hub face; this is distinct from the required overhang-support spacer.

Fitment & Compatibility

Use the individual application notes to identify the installed Heidts, Ridetech or CPP drop-spindle configuration. Then compare wheel-to-caliper clearance with DS875, including spoke depth near the caliper bridge. Confirm lug pattern, bearing seating and retained spindle hardware. The kit supplies the brake/hub assembly rather than a complete hydraulic conversion, so suitable hoses and master-cylinder capacity must be established for the vehicle.
