Wilwood Front 12.19-Inch Plain-Rotor Brake Kit for Chevrolet Bel Air/Biscayne/Impala/Caprice (1965–1968), Black Dynalite Calipers

This Wilwood front package converts the specified Chevrolet drum-spindle cars to 12.19-inch vented disc brakes. Black four-piston Dynalite calipers, BP-10 pads and plain-face rotors are supplied with replacement hubs and bearings. It is the larger-rotor conversion for this mounting family, with its own clearance and wheel-offset dimensions. Wilwood Engineering was founded by Bill Wood in 1977 and is based in Camarillo, California. The company designs and manufactures disc brake systems and components, including calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings, and brake lines. • Wheel seating: the specified support spacer is required when the wheel contact face overhangs the hub. The support spacer is sold separately for this kit. For stamped steel wheels without overhang, use the specified hub shield, obtained separately.

Fitment & Compatibility

Check each Bel Air, Biscayne, Impala and Caprice year in the application list. DS831 establishes the drum-spindle attachment and hub assembly, which differ from unrelated Chevrolet front ends. Confirm the listed outward wheel movement before selecting wheels or tire width. The conditional minimum is 15 inches, subject to the full wheel section. Follow the specified spacer requirement for overhanging wheel contact surfaces and choose suitable flex lines separately; original rubber hoses are not assumed to fit these calipers. The selected rotor and current component specification give 1.10-inch width, but the linked PDF clearance figure labels 0.81 inch. Obtain the correct clearance drawing from Wilwood before final wheel selection.
