Wilwood Front Plain-Rotor Brake/Hub Kit, Red Calipers, AMC Matador/Rebel/Rambler/Ambassador/AMX/Javelin/Javelin AMX/Hornet/Gremlin, 1969–1976

For AMC cars retaining the specified Kelsey-Hayes disc spindles, this Wilwood package supplies red four-piston calipers and 11-inch plain-face rotors. The vented rotor/hub conversion includes new hubs, bearings, brackets and BP-10 pads. Its compact rotor diameter does not eliminate the need to measure the chosen wheel and the original spindle. Wilwood Engineering was founded by Bill Wood in 1977 and is based in Camarillo, California. • Hydraulic flex lines are separate. Master cylinder, booster and spindles are not included; retain or select suitable matching components.
• Conditional minimum wheel diameter: 14 inches. Verify the complete clearance drawing for barrel and spoke offset before purchase.
• Wheel seating: the specified support spacer is required when the wheel contact face overhangs the hub. The support spacer is included with this kit. For stamped steel wheels without overhang, use the specified hub shield, obtained separately.

Fitment & Compatibility

Follow DS822 for the Kelsey-Hayes bearing-seat configuration. The included hubs are not suitable for Bendix spindles; the inner and outer bearing sizes are the decisive distinction. Retain only suitable original spindle fastening parts as directed and establish bracket spacing before aligning the calipers. Check the relevant model year in the table, rather than applying the full 1969–1976 span to every AMC listed. Use separate compatible brake hoses and verify wheel clearance with the template.
