Wilwood Front Dynalite Drag Brake Kit for Ford Fairlane/Falcon/Maverick/Mustang/Ranchero/Torino and Mercury Cougar/Cyclone/Montego/Comet (1970–1974), Drilled 11.75-Inch Steel Rotors

This Wilwood front drag-race hub kit uses thin 11.75-inch drilled steel rotors and four-piston Dynalite calipers for the specified 1970s Ford and Mercury spindle applications. It is a competition-oriented lightweight brake conversion, with separate hubs, bearings, brackets and BP-10 pads. Do not select it as an unrestricted street or endurance brake package. Wilwood Engineering was founded by Bill Wood in 1977 and is based in Camarillo, California. The company designs and manufactures disc brake systems and components, including calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings, and brake lines. • Wheel mounting change from OE: +0.14 inches per side; check wheel offset and fender clearance.
• Offset confirmation required: the exact kit summary specifies +0.14 inch per side, while the DS813 introduction says approximately 0.50 inch outward. Confirm the correct wheel position with Wilwood before selecting wheel offset or fender clearance.
• Replacement hubs: Hub - Solid Rotor Offset; Aluminum; Bare. Bearings and hub hardware are specified in the installation instructions.
• Wheel bolt circles: 5 x 4.50; 5 x 4.75 inches.
• Included: paired calipers, pads, rotors, brackets and assembly hardware, replacement hubs and bearings.
• Hydraulic flex lines are separate. Master cylinder, booster and spindles are not included; retain or select suitable matching components.
• Conditional minimum wheel diameter: 15 inches. Verify the complete clearance drawing for barrel and spoke offset before purchase.
• Wheel-contact support: a separate 6.60-inch-diameter × 0.20-inch-thick steel spacer is required if the wheel contact face overhangs the hub. Stamped steel wheels without overhang should use the separate 6.15-inch-diameter × 0.09-inch-thick hub shield.
• Application-use limits: For use on cars up to 2800 pounds with rear discs or on cars up to 2400 pounds with rear drums. This drag-race package must be matched to vehicle weight, rear brake type and braking duty.

Fitment & Compatibility

Review the individual Ford and Mercury model/year rows and the installed spindle. Drum and disc spindles use different bracket holes; disc-spindle preparation includes drilling and tapping, and original caliper ears can require clearance work. Have a qualified machinist follow DS813. The Mustang disc-brake rows exclude GT350 and GT500, and the drum-spindle production split must be observed. Verify vehicle weight and the manufacturer's drag-race duty limits, hydraulic balance, wheel fit and hose routing before choosing this solid-rotor package.
