Product details

Wilwood's 1982–1992 Camaro/Firebird drag kit is configured for the OE spindle originally carrying a single-piston caliper. Four-piston forged calipers clamp drilled solid steel rotors on replacement hubs. The original spindle must be prepared as shown in the instructions, rather than treated as an unmodified bolt-on mounting point. Wilwood Engineering was founded by Bill Wood in 1977 and is based in Camarillo, California. The company designs and manufactures disc brake systems and components, including calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings, and brake lines for motorsport, street-performance, and specialized applications.

Fitment & Compatibility

The mounting reference is the 1982–1992 F-body knuckle used with an OE single-piston front caliper. Rear drum and rear disc entries do not change that front-spindle requirement. Preparation of the retained knuckle is shown in DS197 and must be completed before bracket alignment is attempted. The supplied hub moves the wheel +0.59 inches from the reference position; assess tire clearance as well as the caliper envelope. Final installation needs separate hoses, correct bearing engagement and the prescribed wheel-template check.
