Wilwood Rear Drilled Drag Brake Kit, Chevy 12-Bolt, Chevelle/442/Beaumont/Camaro/Apollo (1964–1974)

Wilwood's drilled rear drag package mounts Forged Dynalite four-piston calipers to a Chevrolet 12-bolt housing using original C-clip axle retention. Solid 11.44-inch steel friction rings are bolted to separate hats. The hardware is selected by the axle end, not by the front drop spindle or by the Chevelle, 442, Beaumont, Camaro or Apollo name alone. Wilwood Engineering was founded by Bill Wood in 1977 and is based in Camarillo, California. The company designs and manufactures disc brake systems and components, including calipers, brake rotors, master cylinders, valves, fittings, and brake lines for motorsport, street-performance, and specialized applications.

Fitment & Compatibility

Original C-clip axles are required; special housing ends and C-clip eliminator conversions are excluded. Confirm the axle offset with Wilwood before ordering: the selected kit page gives 2.91 inches, while the linked installation document header states 2.81 inches. Measure the housing and check the applicable drawing rather than treating either value as interchangeable. Hydraulic flex lines are separate and must be routed clear of moving suspension parts.
