Product details

A 6-piston Wilwood SX6R for left-hand installation, this black caliper works around a nominally 1.25-inch-wide rotor. Its 1.75/1.38/1.38-inch bore configuration and 9.84-inch radial centers are the principal dimensions to compare. Bill Wood founded Wilwood Engineering in 1977. Based in Camarillo, California, Wilwood designs and manufactures disc brake systems and parts for motorsport, street-performance and specialized applications, from calipers and rotors to master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines.

Technical Details

  • Manufacturer part number: 120-14861-BK
  • Component: Wilwood SX6R; one caliper
  • Rotor width: 1.25-inch nominal; 1.10–1.28-inch permitted range
  • Rotor diameter range: 12.88–15.00 inches
  • Mounting: Left hand; Radial; 9.84-inch centers; 0.52-inch mounting holes
  • Piston arrangement: 6 pistons; 1.75/1.38/1.38-inch bores; stainless steel
  • Hydraulic piston area: 5.40 square inches, as specified by Wilwood
  • Pad shape: Wilwood type D1792; compound selected separately
  • Body and finish: Forged aluminum; Black Powder Coat
  • Dust boots: No
  • Fluid inlet: 1/8-27 NPT

SX6R calipers combine six differential-bore pistons with dust wipers and a 9.84-inch radial mounting pattern. The D1792 pad outline and body envelope differ from smaller radial calipers, even when rotor thickness is similar.

Fitment & Compatibility

Confirm rotor diameter as well as thickness, and allow for pad and caliper clearance inside the wheel. The mount pattern is a dimensional requirement rather than a vehicle fitment guarantee.

This listing covers one caliper. Match the brake pads, rotor, hose and mounting arrangement to the complete brake system.
