Product details
The Type III anodized D154 uses two 1.62-inch stainless pistons rather than a single large bore. This nominal 1.04-inch rotor-width version supplies a 4.12-square-inch piston area. Bill Wood established Wilwood Engineering in 1977. Based in Camarillo, California, the company designs and manufactures disc brake systems, from calipers and brake rotors to master cylinders, valves, fittings and brake lines for motorsport, street-performance and specialized use.
Technical Details
- Manufacturer part number: 120-11872. Component: D154 Single & Dual Piston Floater caliper.
- Supply: one brake caliper, not a complete axle brake kit. Match the mating rotor, pads, bracket and connection hardware to the installation.
- Construction and surface: forged aluminum housing finished in Type III anodize.
- Nominal rotor width 1.04 inch; compatible outside diameter from 11.00 through 12.19 inches. Specified rotor-width limits: 0.87–1.04 inch.
- Piston dust boots: not fitted.
- Bracket interface: 5.46-inch floating centers with 0.69-inch holes. Specified mount height: 0.37 inches; orientation: universal.
- Caliper weight: approximately 4.6 lb.
- Hydraulic inlet thread: M10 x 1.50. Use a fitting with the correct thread and sealing seat.
- Pad fit is type D154. Match the pad dimensions and compound to the rotor and intended braking conditions.
- Bore configuration 1.62 inches across 2 pistons; piston material: stainless steel. Hydraulic effective area: 4.12 square inches.
Fitment & Compatibility
Compare both piston count and area when replacing an existing GM metric caliper. Verify the 5.46-inch floating mount, D154 pads and M10 x 1.50 banjo connection.
With 20+ years of experience, PMB Performance can help compare the actual brake hardware. Supply the caliper number, rotor dimensions and mounting measurements when asking about compatibility.
